The successor to the mighty Bugatti Veyron has been spotted testing in Southern Europe. The test mule, based on the Super Sport, has been covered in a really funky camouflage and is sporting external modifications . It is likely to be called the Chiron.
The external changes to the test mule include a new rear bumper and different alloy wheels. The pictures also reveal that the test mule was travelling around without its rear deck lid, thought this maybe more so due to the testing equipment.
The pictures reveal the interior which by the look of it have been carried over from the current car. We believe that the successor’s cabin will do away with a lot of buttons and may integrate them into a single touchscreen unit similar to the one found on the 918 Spyder.
The car is expected to continue with the 8.0-litre W16 quad turbo charged mill but it will now be mated at least one electric motor making it a hybrid. The combined output is expected to exceed 1500bhp and roughly the same number in torque figures. Power will go down to all four-wheels via seven-speed DSG and four-wheel drive system.
What we like the most about spotting such a car is that it shows that companies like VW are looking to push the boundary of what is normal, achievable yet liveable at the same time.
