Mercedes will unveil the new Maybach at the Los Angeles Auto Show, however they have teased a few images of the luxury limousine before its official unveiling. A couple of teaser images have been released with one showing the rear-seats and the other showing the iconic Maybach name with the three-pointed star in the middle of the boot.
The S-Class Maybach will feature styling similar to the S-Class, but will be about 10 inches longer than the LWB model. The additional length of the Maybach will help in liberating more legroom for the passengers in the rear, as shown in the teaser images. Apart from the extra space, the image shows the abundance of luxury and craftsmanship behind weaving those luxury aircraft-style reclining rear-seats.
Expect it to be powered by a twin-turbo 6.0-litre V12 engine churning out 522bhp and 830Nm of torque. There are chances that a more powerful model using the S65 AMG’s version of the same engine, producing 620bhp and 1,000Nm of torque, might be offered.
We are just a few days away from its official unveiling and although details are scarce on its pricing, expect it to cost approximately $200,000 (Rs 1.22 crore) for the entry-level model. An armoured version offering VR9-level ballistic protection might also be offered.
Will Mercedes launch it in India is a big question, however we believe they might help facilitate a few cars through the CBU route for customers who want one.
