Hyundai Creta has been a popular choice in its segment ever since it was launched last year. Supporting claims, Hyundai has achieved a new feat with 13,500 units of Creta sold in July this year as compared to 6,783 units sold in the same period in 2015. The domestic sales for Hyundai Creta stood at 7,981 units in July while exports have been at 5,448 units. The Creta’s popularity can be gauged from the fact that Hyundai has accumulated over one lakh bookings in just about eight months.
Apart from the Indian market, the Creta is exported to Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin American markets. In the compact SUV segment Creta accounts for about 50 per cent of total sales. Hyundai attributes the Creta’s success to impressive styling and features like projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, adjustable seats, smart infotainment system, a premium-looking cabin, six-airbags and hill-start assist controls among others.
The Hyundai Creta is offered with three engine options - 1.6-litre petrol, 1.6-litre diesel and 1.4-diesel engines. The petrol unit generates about 128bhp of power and comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic option. The smaller diesel engine generates 89bhp of power and comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while the bigger diesel engine generates about 121bhp of power and comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic option.
