VW Polo facelift spied testing again

VW Polo facelift has been spied once again before its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The car has been spotted more than once in India. Not surprisingly it is being tested with no camouflage as it’s easy to dismiss it as regular Polo unless you have a keen motoring eye. 

The updated car is expected to make its entry into India shortly after its unveiling at Geneva. The refreshed Polo gets a different headlight design, all-new front and rear bumpers, a revised grille with chrome slats and minor changes to the tail lamps. The car will also get changes inside the cabin, but again these will be subtle and this minimal theme continues to be seen all over.  

The car gets one of the last updates before the all-new Polo based on VW’s MQB platform is out. The minimalistic updates could be to save costs. In India, the updated Polo will be sold in petrol and diesel variants. The three-pot 1.2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre diesel will be sold alongside the drool-worthy four-cylinder 1.2-litre TSI and the 1.6-litre diesel powered GT TDI.

The car will be priced marginally higher than the ongoing Polo and we expect the revisions might be in the range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000. There is no hint yet from VW India, although we can expect the updated car to hit Indian markets during or a little before the festive season of Diwali.
