Jaguar’s upcoming sedan (likely to be called XS) has been in the making for a long time. The car has been spied on different occasions on public roads and even at the infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife, in Germany, doing some hot laps. Now it seems it won’t be long before the new XS comes to life as the car could be revealed before the end of this year.
The upcoming XS will be sold as Jaguar’s entry-level premium sedan. It will compete against the likes of BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and the Mercedes Benz C-Class.
Going by the reports surrounding the XS, it will be based on a new all-aluminum platform which was previewed on the C-X17 SUV concept. Expect this new model to be offered with a range of turbocharged 4-cylinder and supercharged 6-cylinder engines.
The Jaguar XS, in all probability, could be unveiled before the end of this year, followed by an official launch in early-2014.
