Porsche has unveiled the Cayenne Platinum edition at the Detroit Motor Show. The models are on sale and will be available in the US starting January. The Platinum edition spices up the basic variants of the SUV.
The Platinum edition can be availed of in petrol and diesel engines and covers the most demanded equipment as standard. The Platinum gets an eight-speed tiptronic S transmission, power steering plus, park assist at the front and rear and 585 watts Bose surround sound system with 14 speakers as standard.
Inside the cabin, the Black Luxor Beige two-tone interior combination is reserved for special edition models; partial leather interior is standard, while a full leather interior is available as an option.
The Platinum edition is available with the 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine or a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine. The notable differences over the models are the silver accents on the centre and side air dams, the side window trims, the rear lip spoiler and the tailgate trim. A 19-inch Cayenne design II wheels completes the exterior. The standard colours include monotone paint finishes in Black and White, while Meteor Grey Metallic, Basalt Black Metallic and Mahogany Metallic are available as additional extra cost colour options. Available exclusively for this Cayenne edition is the ‘Carrara White Metallic’ paint finish.
The Cayenne Platinum costs USD 63,000 (Rs 38.8 lakh) for the petrol and USD 66,900 (Rs 41.2 lakh) which is an addition of USD 13,000 (Rs 8 lakh) over the base variants. However, Porsche claims that it is a bargain if you consider opting for the equipment on offer individually.
