The Maruti Celerio has been spotted in the flesh at the Buddh International Circuit in New Delhi. The car caught on camera is the top-of-the line ZXI trim and looks too similar to the concept car it is based on. We had written about the Celerio being spotted at a photo shoot, however these pictures are clearer. The YL7 is based on the Suzuki A-Wind Concept.
The Celerio will be available with an industry-first automatic manual transmission on a production car. We had written about the system not too long ago and it will be called the ‘EZ Drive’. The car will be available with the 1.0-litre three-cylinder K-Series engine and might get Suzuki’s own range of diesel engines. The transmissions on offer will be a five-speed conventional manual and with a clutchless transmission.
There are no official confirmations on the Celerio’s launch date, while most assume Maruti might double up its unveiling and launch at the Auto Expo 2014, a possibility of a late launch cannot be ruled out. The expected on-road Mumbai price of the Maruti Celerio will be in the range of Rs 4.60 – 5.95 lakh for the petrol variants.
