The Gallardo has by far been the most successful model in Lamborghini's history. With a replacement on its way, more details of the Lamborghini Gallardo successor have now emerged. It now seems that the car wouldn’t be called ‘Cabrera’ after all but will retain many of the signature Lamborghini elements.
A team from ‘Only The Best’, which took a tour of Lamborghini’s Aventador manufacturing plant, have managed to get some details. The team was told that the car was not going to be called ‘Cabrera’, though it isn’t clear whether it was truth or just an attempt to extinguish rumours. They also got a clear glimpse of a model finished in ‘Verde Ithaca’, the signature Lamborghini green and gloss black wheels.
It will not be getting scissor-doors as they are believed to be reserved for the V12 models only. The rear styling is said to be sharp, similar to that of the Aventador. The platform and chassis of the supercar will be shared with the upcoming Audi R8.The four-wheel-drive system is going to be retained along with the 10 cylinder engine. It will produce around 600bhp from an updated 5.2-litre V10 engine and will be named the ‘LP600-4’.
The replacement has been generating a lot of excitement among motorists ever since its first pictures had been leaked. Spy photographers had caught sight of the new supercar testing at the Nürburgring, wearing heavy camouflage in September this year. Lamborghini has confirmed that some of the details of the supercar are going to be released before Christmas.
