The 2015 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS has been spied testing for the first time and coincidentally sans any form of camouflage. This new car, which is expected to be launched next year, is based on the 991 series Porsche 911 which made its debut at the beginning of 2013.
The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS is a mid-way model from the German automaker. It is more powerful and luxurious than the standard car but not as race worthy or performance oriented as the GT3 and Turbo models respectively.
It is expected to be powered by the same engine as the Carrera S- a 3.8-litre flat six but with an increase in power from 400bhp to 420bhp and an uprated torque figure of 460bhp as compared to the standard car’s 440bhp. Transmission options are expected to include a seven-speed manual or a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.
In terms of overall design, it looks very similar to the Carrera S but has sporty overtones and aerodynamic aids in a bid to improve handling and grip. It is also expected to get a new rear spoiler, new bumpers, sporty interiors and suspension tuning.
The 2015 911 Carrera GTS is expected to be launched next year and will most likely have a limited production run.
