The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is now available for pre-booking according to a report from Overdrive. The report says that the booking amount is Rs 25 lakh and that it will be launched in January with a 125 unit supply of the S500 Limited Edition coming to India via the CBU route.
Mercedes-Benz has had a launch edition of nearly every model that it has launched over the last year and a half. The top of the line S500 Limited Edition is expected to be available in only two colours (black and white) and is powered by a 4.7-litre bi-turbo V8 engine that produces 460bhp and 700Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via the 7G-Tronic plus box.
However, the bread winner for the new S-Class is expected to be S350 CDI diesel which is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 that produces 258bhp and 620Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear-wheels via a seven-speed automatic gearbox. This car is expected to be available from June onwards. It is likely that we may also get the S400 hybrid as the second petrol option.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class was unveiled in May of this year and went on sale in Europe and America a few months later. We have spoken about the S-Class at length and you can find all the details at the bottom of the story.
