Datsun vehicles will be sold in India through the dealerships of its parent company- Nissan. Considering Nissan as a well-established brand in India and relying on the wide network of the carmaker, Datsun plans to start a good establishment here. The Datsun Go will be the first model to be sold through Nissan India, after it goes on sale in early 2014.
Nissan unveiled the Datsun GO in India this July and more cars are expected to be added to the Datsun’s line-up. All these cars will be sold directly through Nissan Motor India.
Datsun is planning to get their line-up of cars into competitive car markets and it considers India to be an important one among them. Entry into the country through the Nissan dealerships should see them well taken care of in terms of networking and service management as well. Apart from India, Datsun vehicles will be sold in Russia, Indonesia and South Africa.
Vincent Cobee, Datsun Global Head, said, “Selling the Datsun GO and future Datsun models through Nissan Motor represents a natural evolution of the company’s operations in India, which are well recognised in the market. We are excited about launching the iconic Datsun brand in India and look forward to bringing a growing range of bespoke, locally-produced products and high level services to our customers.”
