Fiat India inaugurated three dealerships- Torrid Motors in Andheri, Esskay Motors in Prabhadevi and Balaji Cars in Navi Mumbai today. The carmaker now has 90 exclusive dealerships in India and has plans to inaugurate another 10 by the year end.
The Torrid Motors premises at Andheri comprise a 3,000 sq ft showroom and a sprawling 15,000 sq ft workshop for the servicing of Fiat cars. Similarly, Esskay Motors in South Mumbai have an 8,500 sq ft showroom and an area of 18,000 sq ft for the workshop. For sales of Fiat cars and providing service to the Fiat customers in New Mumbai, Balaji Cars have reserved 3,500 sq ft area for the showroom and 20,000 sq ft for the workshop area.
Fiat seems to be going strong with the wide expansion strategy, after ending their sales and service association with Tata Motors. It aims to create a good foothold in terms of sales of cars in the Indian car market in the coming months. The carmaker has dealerships numbering 37 in the Northern region, 24 in the South, seven in the East and 22 in the Western region of India.
Present at the inauguration, Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and Managing Director, Fiat India said, “FIAT India views Mumbai as a very strategic market and the inauguration of two exclusive dealerships in Mumbai and one in Navi Mumbai are in accordance with our strategy to capitalise on this potential.
