Audi India launched the special version of the A4 sedan called the Celebration Edition for Rs 25.99 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). The car is available only in white and limited units will be on sale. Audi’s latest offering comes a day after Mercedes-Benz launched its special C-Class ‘Edition-C’ car.
A couple of features found in the A4 have been deleted for this special edition. For instance, sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, wood trimmed dashboard and power folding wing mirrors will not be found in it. It will be a non-Quattro car and power will be sent to the front wheels.
What the car will feature is 16-inch alloy wheels, manual adjustment for the front seats, eight airbags, daytime running lamps, a Bluetooth-enabled music system and a CVT gearbox. The A4 Celebration Edition also gets a slightly tame 2.0-litre TDI engine. It produces 143bhp and 320Nm of torque as against the more powerful version of this engine which produces 177bhp and 380Nm of torque. It does the 0-100 kmph sprint in 9.1 secs and boasts of a top speed of 210 kmph.
The Audi A4 entered India in 2008 and Audi India has been assembling the sedan at its Aurangabad facility. Now with the celebration edition they are looking to put around 500 units of the car for sale and that too at a much lower price than the current Audi A4.
