Prithviraj Siddappa, Head of Volkswagen Motorsport India commented, “The Polo R2 and Group N Polo being developed by the Volkswagen Motorsport team in India had their first competitive outing this weekend and I am glad they performed well. Karamjit’s and Urs’ results show good signs of the development of the cars. The team has worked really hard day in and day out to get the cars to this level and I am sure we will continue the development further. I would like to congratulate Arjun and Sirish too for the wonderful show they put up over the weekend.”
Volkswagen Motorsport India has developed the first prototype of the rally-spec version with the aim of promoting their association with Indian motorsport. The rally spec car will be properly put to the test at the Chikmanglur rally, scheduled to happen in December 2013 since it has proved its mettle at the IMG K-1000 rally.
