The Mahindra S101 compact SUV has been spied testing at Chromepet in Chennai. We have already spotted the car testing on multiple occasions and even got some close-ups but this is the first time we have seen the vehicle with alloy wheels.
The SUV or rather, now from a glance at the rear end, the compact crossover from Mahindra is likely to have the same overall proportions of the EcoSport. It is expected to share many components with the Quanto but will get a new set of engines and gearboxes. It is likely that the vehicle will be smaller in design than the XUV500 as we had speculated earlier this year. Another tell-tale sign that points towards this being the Mahindra S101, is that it has an MH 15, Nashik registration, where the main Mahindra Plant is located.
We are likely to see some more of this vehicle by the middle of next year. It may spawn a compact sedan as well as a hatchback, both of which will see the light of day a few months after the S101 is launched.
