2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class spotted testing; interiors revealed

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has always been a strong seller for the German automaker and has been understated in terms of where it stands in the Three Pointed Star’s hierarchy. However, that is expected to change next year when a new model will be revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. While the 2015 C-Class (codenamed W205) has been spotted testing and rendered many times over the last few months, this times spy shots, courtesy of Autocar UK, reveal what the interiors will look like in the new car. 

The interiors of the 2014 C-Class bear some of the hallmarks of the new design language but overall, it retains a familiar and quite successful design philosophy. The steering is a three piece affair with controls mounted on it for various options. 

The gauges are partially-digital and there is new large central display that is expected to show most of the options for the car. While this variant has the familiar rotary dial control system, it is likely that the display will be a touch screen on the higher spec variants.

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class gets a sportier design all around in a bid to make it appealing to a wider age group of buyers. This new car is expected to be around 100mm longer than the current car as it will slot in above the recently launched CLA sedan. It will be the first vehicle to make use of Merc’s MRA (Modular rear architecture) platform. 

We expect that as and when Mercedes-Benz launches the car next year, we should be one of the first few markets to get the 2015 C-Class as it locally assembled at their plant in Pune for India as well as other regions around it.
