As we near the curtain raiser for the 2013 Frankfurt motor show, it seems like there is a sudden splurge of unveilings, leaks and teasers. The newest member in the ‘leak’ category is the Jaguar C-X17 Crossover Concept which was recently seen as silhouette when Jaguar announced that it will digitally unveil the concept a day prior to the beginning of the auto show.
The silhouette revealed the tail lights inspired from the F-Type and curves bold enough to make a strong statement. The facia has added further credibility to the design language which will make way to all of Jaguar’s new models including the 3-Series rivalling sedan which is due in 2014. The fascia is highlighted by the bold Jaguar grille and the massive air ducts on the bumpers with white accents. The head light assembly has also taken its cue from the F-Type while resorting for an all-LED cluster.
More importantly, the crossover will also feature Jaguar’s new modular platform composed of lightweight aluminium, a variation of Land Rover’s Premium Lightweight Architecture that is implemented on the new 2014 Range Rover Sport SUV.
Not much more is currently revealed about the car or its underpinnings, but this glimpse is enough to keep us at the edge of our seats as the Frankfurt show nears.
