Indonesian version of the Ford Endeavour gets a facelift

The Ford Endeavour has been due for a facelift – the current iteration has been on sale in India for nearly three years. And it seems that the upgrade is around the corner, as Ford has introduced the facelift of the Everest (Endeavour in India) in Indonesia with evident cosmetic changes.

The SUV now flaunts a hexagonal front bumper much like the one found on its smaller sibling, the Figo. The facia on a whole has been given a refreshing change with a new slimmer twin blade front grille and extended headlamps. But we are not sure if the new front fascia looks nice on the big old-school SUV.

Bar the new LCD display for the entertainment unit, the interiors have been given a much minor upgrade compared to the outside. The Indonesian market gets an all-black interior compared to the two tone colour scheme found on the Indian variant. We are not sure if this change will imply for the facelift here considering the affinity for lighter interiors in the Indian market.

The 2.5-litre TDCI engine from the current model is expected to keep its place in the facelift, which implies the car will produce the same 145PS of power and 330Nm of torque. In all likelihood, the manual and automatic transmission options will also be left untouched.

We are sceptical of how the facelift will appeal to the masses in India. If it does, it may help Ford in improving the sales figures for the company and give some competition to the current segment leader, the Toyota Fortuner.
