Scoop: Why is a European spec Suzuki Alto test car running JK Vectras?

Suzuki is all set to launch a replacement for the A-Star compact hatchback in 2015. The test car has been spotted on multiple occasions in and around Europe and this occasion seems no different.  However, in this set of spy shots, courtesy of Carscoops, we have spotted something different; while the first vehicle has been shod with Maxxis MA 307 tyres, the second test car on the flatbed has been shod with our very own JK Vectras. This leads us to believe that this car is being tested and developed for the Indian market.

The second test mule seems to shares many features with the Alto 800 like the tail lamp design and the overall shape including the design of the rear hatch. Thanks to the tight camouflage, we can also see that the number plate holder has moved up to the middle of the hatch, a design that was last seen on the Maruti Suzuki 800 sold in India between 1995 and 2000.

The first car on the flatbed, initially looked like the (Vectra shod) test Alto car. However, a closer examination reveals that this is bigger vehicle and features a different design. It gets a different grille which we have found to be similar to that of the new S-Cross SX4

It also gets different tail and head lamp design and most importantly it seems to be sitting on Maxxis MA-307 tyres. These are the same tyres used on the Nissan Micra hatchback. It is likely that they are working on another car to fit in the Swift category, most probably a crossover of sorts like the Fabia Scout and Cross Polo.

The sighting of both cars is a significant step as we now know there at least two new models headed our way in the near future, both in significant segments.
