Ford dealers taking official bookings for EcoSport compact crossover

Yes, what you have read is true, Ford dealers have officially started taking bookings for the EcoSport compact crossover and are charging a booking amount of Rs 50, 000 irrespective of the variant. This has further been confirmed by the EcoSport’s official Facebook page that has posted a link to its dealers’ page on its official website. However, we still have no word on the launch apart from an official communication that said ‘Ford EcoSport to be launched in June’. 

After many months of spy shots, speculation about various features, export destinations, soft unveiling and then finally a mega media drive in Goa involving over 200 Indian and international auto journalists, the interest does not seem to have died for the car.    

We have already driven the sub four metre compact crossover and know all of its details including the variants as well as the extensive feature list and are now desperately waiting for the American automaker to launch the car and obviously announce the prices. 

Ford is believed to be banking heavily on the EcoSport to return it (in terms of sales) to days of the initial days of the Ikon sedan and Figo hatchback. It has already said that it will price the crossover competitively and is expected to use its export to around 32 countries as leverage in this regard.
