The first official exterior image of 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been leaked ahead of its global debut in Germany on May 15. According to a report from Carscoops, the German automaker had uploaded the picture to its Austrian mobile site but quickly withdrew it a short while later. It had released official images of the interiors of the 2014 S-Class last month and has already been spied testing sans camouflage on at least two separate occasions.
The picture shows the front profile of 2014 S-Class (codenamed W222). It is dominated by a large grille, LED headlights, new bumper and of course a standing three pointed star on the grille in place of the big logo that Mercedes-Benz has using on its other models. It must also be noted that the car in the leaked image bears the same German license plate as the one that was spied in March.
The report also suggests that the car in the picture is an AMG spec version. It also features sporty lines on the side sans the flared wheel arches that define the current car. The upcoming S-Class will go into production in August and go on sale in September this year.
