The upcoming Volkswagen Polo GT TSI has been spied testing. It will be the most powerful car in the German automakers Polo line up and will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged mill that produces 105 PS and 175Nm of torque. The pictures also confirm the presence of a 7-speed double clutch gearbox.
The pictures also reveal that car has dual tone interiors and some major bits of chrome both inside and outside. However, the bit we like is the fact that the gearbox gets a sport mode with the option for manual shifts. Internationally though, this engine is offered with a six-speed manual.
Also visible in the interiors shots is a mode to control the ESP, a hint that this car will be good fun to push in the corners. Other features new to this car include chrome pedals and dual airbags in the front. The rest of the interiors are pretty much the same as the standard model.
The car will compete with the Skoda Fabia 1.6 petrol, the Hyundai i20 Sport and the Tata Indica Vista D90, however, it must be noted that the Indica is a diesel. It is likely that with introduction of 1.2-litre TSI, VW will phase out the 1.6-litre petrol engine and will start using this mill on newer versions of the Vento, Fabia and the Rapid.
