The Ford EcoSport is back in the news once again even before it has been launched. It is now the most highly awaited vehicles from the American Automaker for 2013 and has been snapped by various sources right from the time they began testing it outside Ford’s Marimalai Nagar plant near Chennai. Now a website for Ford employees has revealed that they had been conducting training programmes for its trainers to get familiar with the compact SUV.
The programme ‘train the trainers’ was held by Ford Academy India in collaboration with Ford Asia Pacific Training with the intention of passing on knowledge about the compact SUV as well as getting familiar with the vehicle. It involved presentations, sessions with the vehicle and driving experience on Ford’s test track.
The trainers are then expected to pass on their knowledge about the vehicle to sales and service personnel throughout the country and this included information and full details about the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. The EcoSport will also be first time Ford is bringing its SYNC technology to the country and already as per reports it has earned much praise from the trainers.
The Ford EcoSport is one of the most highly anticipated products from the American automaker for 2013. It is a sub-four metre crossover and will be powered by the 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine which produces 128bhp and 170Nm of torque as well as the 1.5-litre diesel mill which produces 90bhp, 204Nm of torque and currently sits in the Fiesta sedan. Power will be transmitted to the wheels via a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox.
This programme means that the launch of the EcoSport is just around the corner, a date that has been one of the America automakers best kept secret over the last year or so.
