Mahindra recently launched a five-door version of the Thar, called Thar Roxx. This new SUV is not only bigger in all dimensions but also offers many features that the three-door version misses. In this article, we have listed the top 10 features that the Thar Roxx has to offer over the three-door Thar which has been on sale since 2020.
Level 2 ADAS suite
The bigger Thar was expected to borrow many features from the XUV700. As is the case here, the new Thar Roxx is being offered with a Level 2 ADAS suite that consists of features such as forward collision warning, auto emergency braking, lane keep assist, high beam assist, and adaptive cruise control.
Ventilated front seats
The Thar Roxx gets all-new white upholstery as opposed to the black theme available in the three-door version. Not just that, with the new upholstery, the Thar Roxx also gets ventilated front seats. Moreover, the driver seat gets electrical adjustment while the co-driver seats can be adjusted manually.
360-degree surround camera
Similar to many recent Mahindra products including the XUV 3XO, the Thar Roxx benefits from a 360-degree surround camera along with a blind spot monitor and front parking sensors.
Large infotainment system
The Thar Roxx is equipped with more tech than the three-door version. The new iteration of the SUV gets a larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen which can run Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly. Moreover, the Thar Roxx gets a full suite of Adrenox-connected car functions with built-in Alexa.
The instrument cluster of the Thar Roxx has also been modernised with a new 10.25-inch digital screen.
Sunroof
Depending on the variant one chooses, the Thar Roxx gets two sunroof options – a single pane electrically adjustable and a large dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
The Thar Roxx, for the higher variants, ditches the manual handbrake and offers an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function.
Premium music system
The new Thar Roxx gets a better sound system with Harman Kardon-sourced eight speakers and a sub-woofer. There are also different sound modes to tune the output quality to one’s liking.
All LED lightings
The new Thar Roxx gets an LED lighting setup including C-shaped DRLs, projector headlamps, fog lamps, turn indicators, taillamps, and even high-mounted stop lamp.
Keyless start/stop button
Unlike the Three-door Thar, the new Thar Roxx gets a keyless start/stop button. However, it misses out on the keyless entry function.
