5.0 Exterior | 4.0 Comfort | 4.0 Performance |
4.0 Fuel Economy | 4.0 Value for Money |
Exterior Car looks great and masculine. Its big and impressive. Makes a statement where ever it goes. Many a times enthusiast come to car and ask about it. Mine have old grill and some how i liked it more than the new design grill. Front lamps are very distinctly fitted in the bonnet and stand out like popping eager eyes but they look very good :-).
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Outlander have many features and that makes it value for money. Music system of this car is to vouch for & for sure is the best in the class. Cruse control is a very good feature and you would start using it even at small stretches. Front seats have heater to warm them in cold winter morning. Doors can be locked by push of a small button place on door handle. It has passive entry and you just need to carry the key and open the door. Boot space is very good and it has folding seats. Great is that they gave a small switch at the back and seats can be folded just by clicking it! Another very great feature is that you can fold down the back bumper i.e release a leaver and bumper folds and become a part of flat bed boot! Amazing!
And and and.. they have Rockford Fosgate music system fitted in the car! Wow what an experience to hear your loved music on them. I promise that same song will sound different on these systems.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox It has CVT system and you do not feel the initial thrust. But as it starts rolling and reaches higher gears you for sure can race ahead. There is no noise inside the cabin and it is difficult to know if car is ON. Reaches 150+ effortlessly. I have GPS device and checked speedo error and actually there is none! Fuel economy is around 8 with mixed driving conditions.
Ride Quality & Handling Well this is where you feel what is Mitsubishi all about! It is superb to handle and is always under control. ABS is very effective and puts car to a complete halt with out any roll. You would never feel like driving a long car. Drives like a very compact sedan and have enough space inside. Though designed to host 4 adults, it can accommodate 5 adults very easily.
Overall Great SUV with maximum features if compared in the same price bracket. Looks very different and stands out in the crowd. Bought pre-owned Outlander and liked what if looked and felt like. Seller say very simple sentence "what can you do in a Outlander in one year and below 1 lac KM". This is what Outlander is being perceived in the market.
Such a good car but HM failed to make it a big success. Here is small story that speak in itself. Wanted to buy a new car in the range of 20L (ex-showroom) and went to Mitsubishi showroom to test drive Outlander. They where shocked to see a walk-in prospective buyer & looked like they never get walk-ins :-). I was being asked questions on what i do and which company i belong to and asked to fill in a form. Did that and post this i was being told that there is no car in the showroom and they need to get it arranged. Waited for 3 months for their call to come but with no success.
Later found a pre-owned Outlander and bought it immediately. I am sure HM is reading this review.
Final Words Go for it. Least, drive it prior to buying a SUV. But only buy this lovely car if you want to keep it for more than 4 years. It does not have any resale value :(
