2007 Mitsubishi Outlander

I'm owing it for last 7 years. I bought a used one at half the price. Everything is great about this car; Steering control even at high speed, power, Auto transmission, paddle shift, music system. CRV is a soft baby before this. Drivers seating gives good view. Suspensions are good. No body roll. Felt safer than the Mighty Land Cruiser at high speed. Spare parts is a big issue and added to that SVR MOTORS in Bangalore is a nuisance. I dunno why Mitsubishi is killing this beauty beast.NANA

Exterior - Solid as with any Mitsubishi Car - Not Feminine like Honda CRV :) Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) - Very comfortable front row seats- decent mid row seats- For child only last row seats.Interiors are elegant, Not too done up but classy.- Audio System is good - Could have been amazing with a woofer :) Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox - Amazing in Automatic, Very Smooth.- You unleash the Monster when shift to Manual Transmission. It just grunts like a sports car and in no time you are above 100 Km/h.- Fuel Economy was decent for a big petrol car - close to 12 on highways n 8.5/9 in city with A/c and occasional 100+ km/h driving. Ride Quality & Handling -Forget about Potholes, Just glide over them-You dont feel it is doing 100 km/h + till the time you look at the meter-Pleasure to drive and park, small turning radius. Except for the length, it will take just the space required to park your sedan - Honda City types Final Words -Gem of a vehicle and extremely professional service by Vivek Motors Ghaziabad. It will beat its more illustrious competitors like Honda CRV, SantaFe etc. Hands down any bloody day.-Its Ground Clearance is best in its class and though it is a cross over it comes with SUV features like 4WD and Traction Lock. Areas of improvement -Audio System : In the era of touch screen systems, it still has a regular stuff system. Exterior Very good looks from all sides, looks more like a personal car than a driver car.the front fighter grill will give a very special look from front. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Spacious front and second row. leather seats look good, but feels less cushioned. two persons can easily lie down if the second row seats are folded down. lot of luggage space. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great engine except for mileage in tight traffic 7.5- 8kmpl. highways 9.5-11kmpl. car wil flyl if we use the paddle shifters. engine is extremely silent and u will be easily mistaken when u stop at signals. gearbox is very smooth and u cant realise gear changes. Ride Quality & Handling Good. handling will be just like a sedan. its high ground clearance helps to go on any rough road. Final Words Good car to own if self driven and not particular about mileage, which is acceptable for an suv of this size. Exterior  quality of bodywork and paint is good. does not require much maintainence after rough use cross country. overall even looks good. japanese design pleasing to look at with a combination of muscular as well as delicate lines. Xenon headlights may be powerful but focus and spread is quite poor. Inadequate for high speed night driving. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) extremely comfortable inside. quiet cabin very well insulated. has all the possible creature comforts you can think of. mitsu should provide seat coolers for our country in place of heating, class airconditioning which is super quiet. space and comfort puts 50lac rupee suv's to shame. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox  engine is quite punchy. Very quiet operation. You cant tell the operation of the engine cooling fan even in the quietest of places, which is quite audible in other cars even in the city. silent running makes it an ideal vehicle on remote trails. Fuel economy is the weak point. Whatever car magazines and company brochures claim is practically not possible to achieve in this car unless you drive it down a hill for half an hour. Best highway efficiency achievable at 80km/hr is 12km/l. City use between 6-7km/l. Gear box is super lazy. Unless you flip the paddles behind the wheels you wont get any move, overtaking in D mode can be dangerous. 3rd 4th 5th are the gears in which it really flies, 1st 2nd 6th gears are badly matched, 1st can be understandably kept for low but 2 nd is also equally low and 6th is so high that the engine struggles for power even at 120km/h Ride Quality & Handling  Ride though a bit stiff, handling is unmatched. high speed dynamics are class leading and shockingly good. even bad roads are taken care of very easily. Vehicle really reigns supreme on the highways in a heavy downpour, just slot it into 4wd and step on the pedal, and you ll surely leave the traffic behind. The only thing that makes you hold back on your speed over bad rural roads is the steering. Gives too much feedback that prevents you from achieving any speeds over 20-30km/hr on untarred/unpaved roads. The whole system just shudders and rattles unlike other suv's. Surprising from mitsubishi to have designed it this way after being rally legends. Somehow the dealers also dont have an answer to this issue even after replacing the entire system. Final Words  Its a very strong and comfortable car/ but not as tough as even other softroaders. Areas of improvement    Diesel engine required badly and a new steering system that can tackle indian roads. Lack of service support.  ride,handling,dynamic chassis,suspension,braking,super comfortablenot as tough as it looks, rattly steering system from new, drinks exp fuel in style
