Exterior: Pure Class. Its jaw dropping. I have a Yellow Sprots Ralliart version which I bought in Nov 2009 and phewww this is some peice of style. I dont drive my merc as much as I like to drive this (not exaggerating).
Dont be baffled by the number of Honda City's on the road, that car sucks. Cedia is a better buy any day, any hour, .... any second. Just that Mitsubishi doesnt eyewash its customers (like the honda's, suzuki's and the chevy's)... They allow you to take your decision and if you know what you want, you would never leave this one for anything else around this price bracket... if you do, then tooooo bad.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Amazing. Its very spacious and very comfortable. It feels rich from within. It has a very suttle but extremely stylish interioir, not loud at all just pure class and nothing else. The makers were thinking all the time while making this car and they sure have done a wonderful job at it. I profess my love for this car to every single person who understands what a car means... and for those enthusiasts out there, dont waste your money anywhere else... this is the place to be and the car to buy.... dont get carried away by wrong stories about poor service, expensive mantaoinence and all... thats all false... the number os ervice stations are propotionate to the number of vehicles on the road... dont compare it to a honda or something... there is a huge huge diffrence.. the honda city cant even come close to the Misubishi CEDIA... the latter makes you feel like heaven.

The family (Self wife and college going son) started to plan for a new car. The old one had been with us for pretty long (an Indica Petrol, I was one of the initial owners of Indica Petrol). The hunt was for a car in the segment of Rs 7.0 to 12.0 Lakhs). The family went to TD Corrolla, Civic, Verna, SX4 and Ford Fiesta. Mind you the TD was based on inputs about good drivers' cars and nothing else. But were thoroughly confused. The car would be self driven and as with all Indians the key evaluation parameters were - cost (running and maintenance), repair facilities, quality of vehicle, great ownership experience - we Indians are a choosy lot!
One day we saw an ad in the newspaper for the Mitsubishi Cedia Sports car. Mind you we later realised that the Cedia ad was a rare occurance like the sighting of Halley's Comet. Immediately decided to call up the showroom for a TD. Arranged within the week. TD on the Mumbai Worli Sea link and lo and behold! Me and my son were immediately sold on the car's performance.
From then on it was an uphill task to convince the lady of the house that this is the car to buy! Lots of research on the net, magazines, word of mouth (Cedia owners and drivers of owners :-) ) and showrooms. The main question by the lady was - if the car is so good why is it not bought by people since it is not frequently seen on the road, why does the company not advertise?
It took quite a while but I think I finally deduced the answer! The same limited production / assembly line is used for other high end cars by Mitsubishi in India. If this car was marketed aggressively, the bottom line would suffer by greater demand of Cedias and lower net production of other high end models!!!!
Finally folks, we prevailed and the family voted to buy the Cedia. It took us some time, booking, loan, delivery, etc. But when the car was taken home on 03 Oct 2010, the pride on owners' faces, the envious looks of the neighbours, the turning heads of other motorists, etc, etc, made it all worth its while.
One comment while I was parking in Mumbai was - "the car shows that the owner loves his car and loves driving" made my day!!
Why I have dwealt on the on the pre-purchase issues is because I want to convince prospective buyers that - there is not any other car as good as the Cedia Sports on the road today (in its class of course).
For any further views/clarifications plz email me - ds3003@gmail.com.
As with any other owner, I too dont stop talking good about this car!
For everything else viz., exterior, interiors, equipment, ride and handling quality, features - I have only one word - fabulous!! All in all it is a great ownership experience. Have done about 5k km, but the severe constraint of time doesn't allow me to drive more.
I must also compliment the Mitsubishi staff at the showroom and the workshops I have visited (servicing etc) for their cheerful cooperation. The showroom staff did not harass me for the decision on purchase as the other firms do!

Splendid. tension free and reliable. Fuel economy great, which 2000 cc car will give you 12 km/lt in Delhi city ???? Cedia will, depends on driving skill as well first year i used to get 10-11 in petrol but as i knew my car better i get now 12+ < I have never went outside Delhi in 2 years and driven 25000 km (bought in Jan 08). In LPG now i get 10 km/l earlier used to get 8 km/l. Probably we have adjusted now in style :) (my car and me )
Ride Quality & Handling
You will love to put your hands on it, its irresistible. Smooth and comfortable, yet powerful and ferocious (sturdy).
Final Words
You need a taste to own it. its not for masses, dont bother thinking about it IF you are average in tatse and follow some defined trends. Its a Trendsetter's love .
Chankya motors was a great dealer and they are done with dealership with expiry of my warranty. Will miss them. A great motivated and helpful team they had, always serving with smile.
Over all have always heard good words about Mitsubishi dealers, guess it all comes with the car quality. They are all good I heard.
Areas of improvement
Well HM can be aggresive in marketing. They can increase their presence in india and dealership.
Parts can be made a bit cheaper. :P I have spent a lot on my rear bumper haha. Every other car tries to kiss my sweetheart .

Mitsubishi motors have no clue how to get volume sales , poor marketing plans have made the CEDIA to remain at the show rooms .I own a cedia and am happy of the product , it handles well , brakes even better and runs trouble free . I feel the rev limiter should be re programed so the car can be pulled through the gears to give a sportier feel ,

I have purchased this great machine from Mitshubishi 4 months back and I have so far driven 1600 Km.
I wish if only HM/Mitsubishi officials could have advertised the car as well as Honda CIVIC or Toyota Corolla, by now we could have seen this car to become more popular than CIVIC/Corolla!!!
This is really a gem of a car in it's segment and provides full value for money. The New Spirit model offers features that are unmatched with any other cars in the same range. The classy leather upholstery and 4-DIN DVD player needs to be purchased as an add-on item for most of the other cars in the segment. It's driver seat is extremely comfortable and even continuous long drive for 3.5 hrs have not made me feel tired! The back seat is spacious and there's ample leg-space for 3 people. Auto climate control system is highly effective and can cool the car within 5~8 minutes even after the car is standing outdoor for 2~3 hrs in the afternoon time.
The car is a driver's delight! It's handling at the sharpest of the turns is amazing. The engine is real zippy and sporty. Braking is astounding - all wheel disc brakes are highly effective. I believe the car has one of the best shock absorption systems for the Indian road. Ground clearance is perhaps best after SX4. @ 12 KmpL, this is perhaps one of the best fuel economy achieved with a 2 litre Petrol engine.
I can loudly say that I don't regret my choice after a year long search for my second car.
With 12 Km/litre, it's best in class, excellent styling, great interiors and comfortSunglass holder utility withdrawnExterior/Styles

Greatest car i have ever thought to own in this segment.
First off, i purchased this car in October 2008. I was budgetting my pocket 6-7 lacs maximum but purchasing this car by putting 3 lacs extra is no regrets. It deserves much more.
The movement of car is too quiet. Sometimes when not in move, i actually gets confused if the car is ON or OFF so i press accelerator to confirm it is ON ;) But thats what i always liked to own. I liked 800 over santro for this only reason that movement is quieter.
There is much more to boost of this car. The pickup-- uf.... no other car i think can catch this when red light is released.
Looks of my car (sports model) are ofcourse stunning. I don't remember a day when i took my car out and people on road didn't turned back to see what an elegant shark sailing on the road.
Sockers and suspension are gorgeous. Move it on jurky roads and you know, there is no alternative to Cedia.
Full control on 120 kmph. Actually i happened to test its ABS when driving to my shop one day. A fullish esteem driver ran from side lane into my car but woo.... I turned left and right like a snake with the excellent ABS systems of Cedia and averted the evident collission.
The color.. uf.. chicago white is what i have. The real eye catcher is what my sister-in-law has to say of it.
Interiors appear bit dull to me :( but the rear bumper spoiler. Wow ! thats something i think is the best i have seen in any car. Look cedia (sports) from behind. You will feel you can't see better.
Music system is cool and yea, AC is great. You would forget delhi summer when riding this car.
Rear seats are very spacious and luxiorius. The arm rest in front is cool, adequetly soft and very handy on long journey.
Overall, its different. Not just another car you see with everyone. Thanks to HM for not marketing this as thats why you owe such great car and yet don't see others owning it.
After sales service is good. No long waitings. Actually haven't ever needed to get any part problem so far only that once a rat cut down the wiper cable. Rats, yes thats where Cedia fails. You will never know from where rat enters your car and what damage they can do. Maybe they can't resist to ride Cedia either .lol.
Overall, the best you can own at this price. 100% satisfied.

I am very very Happy with my Cedia Sports and I recon This is The Best Car in its class.
First I would like to tell about New Face lifted Sports Model 2008. This car is now fully loaded than its earlier version of 2006 and it has enhance with,
Climate control,
Leather seats,
Stylish Momo steering wheel with air bag,
In Dash DVD player with multimedia ( Screen for Navigator)
Body kit
Sporty OZ wheels
Sporty chrome plated paddles
Leather wrap gear shift
Fog lights.
And car has all other standard features of A.B.S. with EBD, SRS Air bags, Disk brake for all wheels, Independent Suspension.
Cedia shares same platform with Evolution 9, if some one like me wants furious car which balances with performance and decent fuel economy then there is no other substitute for Cedia Sports. It has good ground clearance of 175mm and rally heritage of Evolution that makes Cedia The Perfect car on
The best part of Cedia is her 2000cc Engine that produces power of115 bhp and torque of (175 N-m) that result great performance of 0-100 Km/ph under 10 seconds and car can hit maximum of 195km/ph.which I have personally tested.

Have been using this car for almost 2.5 years now. yet to see any problem with it.
What rocks:
* Amazing driveability. It grips the road like nothing i have driven. at 175+ i dint feel any problems. could have driven harder but was scared to. the gears are like butter. short throws but not super short to need the driver to be a race driver. can drive leasurely. when i read reviews of people wanting to look at a car for ability to corner at 100+ i though it was stupid but my view is changed now.
* Safety - NO ONE compared to Mitsubishi in this. Colapsable stering column, ABS, EBD, duel airbags and an amazing suspension that will certainly take care of you. Other might give some of these but charge a hefty premium.
* Comfort - Leather seats (dont know if art or real), good leg room, suspension is sporty meaning is tight and you WILL feel the small bumps at SLOW speeds. but upside is, suspension will last longer, and u wont feel a thing at decent speeds.
* Killer looks. is totally person based but i love it.
* Spacious interiors to comfortably seat 4 and reasonably accomodate 5.
* Power i believe could have been more instead of focus on average. it gives 10.5 in city roads of mumbai and is amazingly driveable even in traffic without having to change gears a million times. 3rd gear easily handles 20km speed without knocking. still if you need power then just down shift when you are close to 2K rpm and see the kick in the bottom it gives.
* features are reasonable but not amazing. there is tilt stering, height adjustable driver seat, folding armrests (front and rear)
* ASS - not so bad in Mumbai as metro motors does a decent job.
* Maintanence - 1st service at 1000km was free, 2nd i spent around 750, 3rd and onwards i spend around 2000.
Hope this helps.
Full value for money spent. Will get you the looks on the road still after 3 years of launch. Not much actually. only thing i could say was forget mileage and give more power here.Exterior/Styles

Since this forum helped me choose Cedia and having driven it 4700 Kms, I consider it my duty to come back on this forum and Thank everyone who helped me buy this car, including my colleague at work who also purchased a Cedia a month ago before I did. I finally bought Cedia Select (Ashton Grey) in September 2008 from Excel Motors Gurgaon. Here is my take on the car. I am using the same parameters as are reflected listed on this site
Style - Looks although conventional but neat lines, no frills or spacecraft like designs but sure is a very good example of what a refined car should look like. Although back could have been wider to keep with the current trend and additional boot space (not that it is any lesser now). Driver view is as commanding as I have seen in any other car. Even the base version has everything you can look forward to chrome door handles, alloy wheels, fine leather covered steering and gear knob, foot mats.
Comfort - Everyone who has sat in the car cannot stop admiring about the space it has to offer for the front seat passenger. Backseats have sufficient leg space and comfort in fact I found it better that Skoda Octavia back seats. For the driver it is absolutely comfortable, have driven it for 10 hours in a day a combination of city and highway without getting fatigued, ergonomics seem to be in place. The car has features reserved for high end cars ABS, EBD, saftey bags, wood and titanium dash, independent suspensions etc. The resale value is not a consideration for me but others who have this should do a check from the market.
Performance – Sharpest in the city traffic, do a test ride to believe it (Highest torque in its category). Although 115 bhp seem a lot less for a 2.0 L engine, let’s not forget it has been detuned for the Indian market so as to give the right fuel efficiency.
Maneuverability is best in the segment with 4.9M turning radius and it shows. Even the sharpest of turns are no issues given the bigger size. The engine is super silent and cabin noise is zero. All you hear is bridgestone tyre noise (standard factory fitted), I am told Michelin should be the next replacement if you want to get rid of this noise as well. Have tested it at the speeds of 140 KMPH and never felt out of control with its super efficient braking and control. It’s a driver’s car.
Value for Money - Although everyone would like to be assured that they made the right decision, in my case it turned out that the car was at its lowest price point in recent times on account of two reasons First Discount offered was Rs. 80K and Second Mitsubishi was introducing the new model very next month (Dealer was frank enough to point out the price difference and it turned out exactly the same), with the changes mentioned below. It made sense to me the only trade off would have been in my case the climatronics (not sure how effective it is in the new model – comments welcome).
Fuel Economy – Max I have clocked is 14.8 KM/L after first servicing which a combination of highway and city was driving. City driving is giving me around 12-13, I drive it gently (Key is to keep RPM below 2k Mark, don’t rev it up unnecessarily, highways are the best place to do it).
As far as maintenance is concerned, my question to everyone would be with parts cut of 25-40% sometime back it should be in the range of Optra and others (service interval 10000 KMs). On the contrary it gives you are more likely to get a better response/treatment from the dealer and less of waiting time as compared to the more popular brands in India. The only challenge is the presence in metros and big cities. My car has gone for just one servicing and the service center guys have been courteous enough to call check and explain quite a few things.
