The new Mercedes Benz C-Class looks amazing!

Taking a leaf out of its higher end versions, Mercedes have done a nice job with the facelift of the old C-Class.

It actually looks more elegant than the E-Class now. A class apart from the other contenders like the Audy A4, which may be more sportier, but the C-Class holds a slight edge when it comes to being a chauffeur-driven sedan.

The C-Class Mercedes Benz is the most accessible of all Mercedes Benzes and has been a benchmark in the entry level luxury sedans segment considering that it comes in the creamy price bracket. German car manufacturer DaimlerChrysler has completely overhauled the Mercedes-Benz C-Class with classy design and shape to gain a commanding position in the luxury sedan segment in India.

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which is available in petrol and diesel variants, received a fresh lease of life with updated and refreshed high-quality interiors and a distinctively styled exterior. It is available in C200 Kompressor petrol variant, C220 CDI diesel variant, and a powerful C63 AMG petrol variant.

The C-Class comes with refined styling and characterises everything that's vintage Benz. It epitomises it all – a distinctive aura of class, luxury and mystery. The current generation (second) of the C-Class that was introduced in 2001 replacing its classically–styled predecessor the 1994–model, globally. The new generation car looks sportier with a steeper front and a shorter rear. The new C–class sedan gives buyers plenty of standard features. As for the engine, it gets what it deserves – a super–charged straight–four petrol engine and a common rail diesel engine. Overseas it receives V6 engines. The AMG variant is powered by a V8 engine.

The sedan is packed with plenty of technology to woo its lovers. The C–Class is available in 12 cities and its competitors are the Audi A4 and the BMW 3 Series.

The new C–Class has three engines: a 1.8–litre petrol, a 2.2–litre diesel with high–pressure Common Rail Diesel Injection (CRDi) and a 6.2–litre V8 petrol. All the engines are powerful for payload. The Mercedes C200 K (KOMPRESSOR) is propelled by the 1.8–litre supercharged petrol engine. This sedan benefits from a skillfully combined compressor, supercharger, intercooler, variable–adjustment camshafts, Lanchester balancer and adaptive drive dynamics. This results in 178 bhp of power at 5600 rpm and 240 Nm of torque being developed between 3500–4500 rpm.

The C220 CDI diesel variant is powered by a potent 2.2–litre diesel engine that produces 170 bhp of power at 3700 rpm and 410 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. The high pressure CRD assembly pumps out enough power for an extra kick to push past other cars on highways. The C200 K can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.6 seconds whereas the C220 can make the same in about 8.5 seconds.

The C63 AMG petrol variant is powered by a powerful 6.2–litre V8 engine that generates an awesome 457 bhp of power at 6800 rpm and peak torque of 600 Nm at 5000 rpm. The C63 AMG can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds.

A 6–speed manual transmission is standard with the 1.8–litre and 2.2–litre engines. A faster shifting 5–speed automatic transmission with touch shift is optional. The 6.2–litre engine on the AMG is coupled to a 7G–Tronic 7–speed Speedshift automatic transmission. It's capable of adapting to individual driving styles. The direct controlled suspension is tuned to be slightly stiffer to suit Indian highways. It could have been slightly softer for low speed driving. The C–class responds to inputs like a sports car does. The steering with safety steering column is very well weighted and accurate, and the car is perfectly stable at high speeds.

The car looks the same as the older C–Class with no dramatic changes, except for some minor ones in the interiors as well as exteriors. Its exterior contours have the same drape as the larger E–Class and S–Class cars, but along more compact and aerodynamically sleeker lines.

It had received subtle upgrades for 2005 that included a wider set of quad–ovoid headlights, revised taillights and prominent fender flares. The C–Class sedan is slightly narrower than the BMW, making for better access to tight corners and easier parking. The seven–spoke alloy wheels accentuate the elegance of the sedan.

The interiors of the sedan are very conservative and elitist. Upgraded levels of luxury include new gauges, controls and comfortable seats. There is ample cargo space for a car of its size.

The standard features include front and rear armrest with cup holder, THERMATIC automatic climate control, dust filter and air re–circulation, trip computer in multi–function display, cruise control with "SPEEDTRONIC" variable speed limiter, front seats with power height and backrest adjustment, heated mirrors, Brake Assist System and Electronic Stability Program to name a few. The exterior is adorned by clear–lens projector–beam headlamps, clear–lens front halogen fog lamps, heated windscreen washer nozzles and heated rear windscreen, and green–tinted insulated glass all around. The new C–Class comes standard with 2–zone Thermatic automatic climate control, multifunction steering wheel with trip computer in the multi–function display, power windows with one–touch control, obstruction sensor, power tilt–and–sliding tinted–glass sunroof with one touch open/close function, Bluetooth interface with hands–free function. Audio system includes a 20–CD radio with MP3–compatible CD player, and a 6–disc CD changer.

It is packed with top–notch safety features including front row airbags and sidebags, window bags for all occupants, height adjustable belt with pre–tensioners, child–proofing for doors, automatic child seat recognition, side impact protection, Anti–lock Braking System, automatic–locking doors with emergency opening, electronic immobiliser including "ELCODE" locking system with infrared/radio–frequency remote control and visible signalStyle, performancePrice, fuel economy

Exterior Completely sartisfied wih the design and features. comes unmatched in any other products. Like u define a perfect aerodynamic model.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) When compared to the BMW 3 series I think the dash board can be improved a little.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox A gentle beast with a gentle touch. Rather than its noise its speed comes all the way thru once ur leg is on the accelerator. i sometimes even doubted if i have changed gears. very smooth and genuine touch.

Ride Quality & Handling Benz is always known for its ride quality and handling. so asking such a question is ur foolishness. its simply superb. Suits drivers of all ages.

Final Words Wat do I say it as. No words to describe. If people value each penny spent on a car, then I wud suggest that only the Benz can satisfy u.

      Areas of improvement NA.

Style,Ride and associated qualities.i wud never blame a C Class

Exterior Is so great, totaly like a sport class car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are like heaven. Park assistance, intelligent light system, double sunroof are the attracting features of the car. Space of legroom is really good aspecially in front seats. Comfort is really amazing, Even if u drive over 200 kmpl its comfort doesn't loose. And that is the best part.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 7G tronic system is great. engine is not too strong but it doesn't feel like its not strong enough. Fuel economy is really great. It gives 13 kmpl in the city and gives 17 kmpl on highway in petrol version. Which is really great in petrol cars. Eengine starts and picks up like a rocket. Engine is very well made for the car.

Ride Quality & Handling Its an amazing car in the sector of ride quality n handling so smooth. It feels we are going on water, not on the road. It is a royal car, It really is.

Final Words Some people say u always hv lots of maintenance in merc i disagree eith them. Its a really strong car. Forget A4 and BMW 3 series MERC GIVES THE REAL VALUE OF UR MONEY.

Areas of improvement It doesn't need any improvement. people say nothing is perfect, but this car is.

Exterior is amazing, safty is the best part, pick up is so coooooooool. I own this car. Its great.Nothing...

I purchased this car 3 months ago. It was my dream car in 3 months it has won our hearts.pick up is amazing and what to say about the braking? the car comes to standstill within spilt of seconds even we are at high speeds.on expressway 190 was effortless and we touched 210 with ease but due to other cars on the way we had to reduce speed. surprisingly you would feel very secure at such high speed,no road noise no vibrations but only the strong grip of the tyres at high speeds. on sports mode car picks up with a roaring noise like ferrraries or lamborghinis which is real fun,but fuel consumption is very high on sports mode.this car is really a fun to drive and its compact dimensions make it fair for driving in cities.ground clearance is fine.maintanance is nothing and its a car which would give you a vip status in 30-36 lakhs .purchase it.for any queries call-773823XXXX.

I probably do not know when I will be Capable of owning this beauty, but recently i had a chance to travel from bombay to Indore along with my super boss inthis car. the interiors are like you are sitting in the lounge of a five star hotel and the experience of comfort cannot be narrated in words. the pickup of the car with such powerfull engine under its hood was superb and equally great was the breaking system. throughout the way i was imagining myself riding this black beauty and was almost envious for the chaffeur who was driving it.

luckily while in indore i got a chance to go to Ujjain for some official work and boss asked me to use his car. on the way i requested the chaffeur to let me drive and although it was on his face that he did not wish me to touch his beloved but he was helpless and let me drive the car for about twenty five kilometers. although this was my first time i was driving this machine but it was so friendly that it seems to me as if i have been driving it since years.

it had simply made me fall in love with this car and know i only dream and dream of how i can own one of these beauties.

the car is everything a man wants to own.no point to mention here

Exterior Classy looks great edges with panormic sunroof.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Front seats comfortable  as accepted good for perosnal use but its not a family car if a person wants to use it for its personal use like going for office alone then it is a superb car.many more features like bluetooth compatibility seat adjustment on door which makes it very much easier to adjust the seats.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great performance, 0-100 in 7 seconds top speed 210 km/hr driver by myself.

Ride Quality & Handling Amazing rides qulaity is amazing each part of the car is of good quality amazing leather seats one touch back curtain.

Final Words Classy benz with killer looks and performance . Specially white colour suits the car most because of its black panaromic sunroof also gives warning to check tyre pressure.

Areas of improvement Back row is not comfortable not even 3 people can sir comfortablly need to work on mileage.

The good:A powerful V-8 engine and a smart seven-speed automatic transmission make up the 2009 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG's power train. High points in the cabin electronics include excellent sound from a Harmon Kardon stereo, hard-drive music storage, and a full-featured Bluetooth phone system.

The bad:Gas mileage isn't going to be good with a 6.2-liter engine. The navigation system doesn't offer traffic or weather, which are features that are starting to be incorporated in other cars.

The bottom line:The 2009 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG combines very impressive performance on road and track with first-rate cabin electronics, making it fun and convenient. Just make sure you budget for gas.

Like many German cars, this has its quirks. The navigation is tough to get used to, but that's not what's most curious about this car: at elevation about 10,000 feet, the nav shuts off! It displays a warning and becomes inoperable. Mercedes says it affects so few people that they won't fix it. So if you drive in the mountains a lot (we live in Colorado) and want to use this car in high elevations, keep this in mind. As importantly, keep in mind that Mercedes refuses to spend the time. I liked the 2006 ML so much I got a 2009 ML when my lease was up. The 2009 gas mileage averages around 10mpg in the city and 15mpg on the hwy. Compared to 15mpg in city and 22 mpg that i got with the 2006. The handling on the 2006 was great and fun to drive, the 2009 doesnt have steering with as much feel, it feels more like a bus. No feedback. I think the steering wheel is also bigger in this year but not sure. THe fake leather seats do not compare to the comfort of the leather seats i had previously. THe rear bumper design with the color coating is really dumb but a good way for the dealers to make extra money when you turn in the car. It scratches easily.

Initially, it feels like its going to be a lesser experience. The instant gratification of the torque-rich SL55 is missing, despite seven gears (as opposed to five) and the sharper throttle response; you have to work the new engine hard, using lots of revs. However, while the start-of-day feeling was that the SL63 was a little flat and not as exciting as its 518bhp rating suggested, by the time I handed the keys back I had been won over by its ability and consistency. The further you drive the SL63, the better it feels. The directness of its steering, the firmness of its chassis and the need to work its engine and gearbox hard ultimately fuse into a very satisfying experience. As ever, the active suspension helps disguise the SLs weight, giving the car a neat, agile feel through a sequence of bends.
