With the objective of buying a new car, I recently testdrove the Wangon R Lxi. Its a good car for a family of 4. Not more. And if you are planning on relatives then the kids better stay at home. It helps having a small car these days, especially ones that women can drive easily ( im married soo...), and this is one car they will surely love, maybe not for its looks but for its handling in traffic. Its a breeze. So if ur wife knows how to drive and if you feel it is a good idea to share the wheel once in a while then u shud look at this. Its much more refined than a santro in more ways than one. Here are my observations. Its got good interiors, handles well, can seat 4 comfortably (5 is a lie) and has good economy. The suspension smothers bumps reasonably well for a small car ( no where near the palio). Its easy to maintain, offers good economy and good resale. The gearshift is vague and imprecise. But u'll manage if you are a sedate driver. The engine has a good torque spread so pulling off in lower gear is not a problem even with the a/c on. The EPS takes away from the steering feel, but then this is not a sports car and so is fine. It is this feature that is a boon in traffic. The A/C is great in summer. But the blower does announce its hard work at higher speeds. Best maintained at 2 mark for a quiet cabin. Anyone taller than 5.10 and with a foot size of 9 - 10 ( im 6F) wud find the accelerator pedal placement funny. Your foot sits at a weird angle to the pedal and my ankle gave me trouble in the short 30 min span. ( is there anyone else out here who has experienced this..? ). The seats are small car like as in an Alto and dont offer great support. But thats manageable. The pedal placement in the Santro is worse, with the brake and the accelerator close to each other. Braking on the wagon is good with sure stops. Spirited driving is not what u should look for. It serves the purpose of an easy point A-B commute in the city, in space, comfort and economy and for the occasional weekend getaway with the family. Its a great car if these are your requirements. A personal suggestion, change to slightly broader tyres of the same size. It wud help its manners. The Lxi is a value for money option and make sure u get a few freebies from the dealer. Hope you found this useful. will be back with another review on another car soon. cheers! JThe new styling exterior and interior, interior space, handling in city traffic, bad accelerator pedal placement, tinny feel, sloppy gearshift

Before purchasing this car I tried santro as well as xeta.xeta is a big flop.Santro & WagonR both are equally good but wagon R wins in terms of looks, city driving & fuel average.I am very much satisfied by the tall boy concept. This makes it very spacious & driving is very smooth.Except for gear shifting, wagonR scores high in all the other creterias Stylish new looks,Tall boy cocept an instant hit, superb comfortInteriors not very good, gear shifting poor

This is one of the most non preffered car by me but when i drove it,it simply changed all my previous thoughts. It has got a good high mount sitting position which really makes it very easy to manoveur yourself in the city.smallest of potholes are visible. The smart new car has got a smarter engine too. But those who cannot understand the meaning of flat torque & its usage than it will be a nightmare for them to understand & will complain of its poor gear shifts.the beauty lies here there is no need to change the gears whether you accelerate or decelerate. The cars torque will take care of it & you will also be less tired with regards gear shifts in the city traffic. The interiors are well appointed with nice rooomy feel to it. The only bad part is that it has provision for 2 speakers only. The EPS is simply great & it automatically switches off once you cross 70 kph & then you will feel the car heavier to turn thus assuring the safety at high speeds. The max speed that car can touch is around 157 kph but with a risk as car feels slight unstaedy over 128 kph. The DUO simply lacks the power & pick up compared to its petrol sibling.

But believe me the wagon R simply glides on the road & the back seaters wont be disappointed as well. The Fuel economy is great with 12.9/ l & 18/l in city & highway depending your style of driving. The wagon r will also fetch you good on resale compared to other cars in its class.

I have recently booked one & i am waiting for its Delivery hope that it would live upto my expecatation which i received during driving  the DEMO version

Last but not least always take care with regads safety of youself & those around you.

Smart Looks ,Flat torque, less engine knockingHigh speed stability

Any one who is looking for a sporty hatchback with gr8 performance give this car a pass. But in its own rights this is a very practical car for modular families living in the city.

It has very good manuvourablity in the city and is easy to drive in dense traffic conditions.Rear legroom is good for 2.Fuel economy is good with 12 in city and abt 16-17 in the highway with ac on. Boot is of very good size for a car of its size. This car has a gem of a engine n will hardly give u any problem n maintainance required is very less.

But its not very confidence inspiring on the highway above speeds of 130km/hr bt is quite stable at 100-110 km/hr.The gearshift is pathetic n u will hav a hard time using it in the beginning. The interior is average. And the poor ground clearance will make sure that you need to be on your nerves on bad indian roads.

Overall its a very good car inspite of having its flaws and matches its competitors in everyway.

Great all rounder, ease to drive in city, good boot space....Horrifying gearshift, rear visibilty...

      Hi Friends,

It was very difficult to choose between Santro and WagonR, but i found WagonR more value for money hatchback.
i liked the new wagonR looks. It is like mini SUV, with roofrails it looks superub. When ever u enter into car it give u a feel of lot of space than Santro. It is having more boot space then Santro also rear seat is completely foldable.
After a lot of study i saw that technology used in WagonR is more advanced than Santro e.g
      (1) WagonR engine is more compact and small but produces the same power as Santro
      (2) Wagon R engine is having 4 cylinder 16 valves, which is 12 in Santro. More valves are always good for engines life.
      (3) Wagon R have Electronic Power Steering but Santro have old hydrolic PS.
      (4) Wagon R is equipped with 32 bit on board microprocessor, since 32 bit processor are having more speed than 16 bit therefore it’s MPFI section is very efficient.

(5)More boot and leg space in WagonR than Snatro.

It is having good stability as high speed. I drove max at 130Km/h(with AC on), in Mumbai-Pune express way.
I found it’s drive extremely smooth. Pickup is too good.

Only drawbacks i found in WagonR are:

      (1)   Boxy look but still it looks fantastic with roofrails

      (2)   Gear Shifting is not as good as santro xing

      (3)   Beige interior is not available.

I hope that i cleared the doubt of many friends who r thinking between WagonR and Santro.
Of course if u want to go for look Santro is more good looking car, but if u go technologically WagonR is far ahead of Santro.

      Think and Decide…

      Regards

The new version of maruti wagonr is very nice it is very much fuel efficient gives milage of 20 kml without A/C on highways,17kml with A/c and 13 kml with A/c in city.Due to its height of 1660mm without roofrail.Which makes it confortable.Driving comfort in wagonr is better than santro i have touched speed of 125 kml on Highway between indore and bhopal.Air conditioner is quite good.According to my opinion wagonr is better thgan santro.
Driving confort is good,Good fuel economy,Great balance.Less boot space,Bad design and Gearshift is not good.
