Well, lot of Wagon-R customer have already provided a lot of pros & cons of the car. Still i am tempted to write about my own experience as i would like to see more of Wagon-R's on the road. I would like to see everyone owing 'Value for Money' vehicle. After lot of research for a year i suggested my father to purchase new Wagon-R instead of going for second hand vehicle. Model - Dec 2005. It has clocked 20,500 km on odometer till date. Trust me guys if use it carefully and if maintained well, you will never face trouble with Wagon-R. Practical & Good vehicle for small & middle-class families.
Pros:
1) Space : Spacious for 4 people, extremely practical seating which can be used as reclining seats - creating bed for two to sleep. Its boot space is also more spacious than any other cars costing upto 5 Lacs. Good legroom for front & rear seats. There is also lot of utility space inside the vehicle for example: space in dashboard, on all doors, between the two front seats etc. You can also check and confirm.
2) Ecomomical : My Wagon-R's city mileage is 14 kmpl without a/c. Around 12.5 kmpl with a/c. Mileage on highway 19 kmpl without a/c. 16-17 kmpl with a/c. To achieve such mileage the Wagon-R should be driven only between 55-70 kmph
3) Maintenance Free: Apart from normal servicing twice a year which might cost you around 2000 rupees or even more depending upon the kilometer it has run or as per periodic maintenance schedule. The spare parts are really cheap. You must always get your vehicle serviced only at authorised dealers as they are well equipped with proper expertise & equipments to service your car.
4) Practical: To tacke the urban areas traffic & parking problems & practical living it is always better to have small car. For family of four - five members; Wagon-R is the best option. Boot space is good enough to hold lot of luggage. Rear seats are independtly foldable, making space for more luggage - sadly this option is not available with new Wagon-R. Maruti Suzuki should have continued with 4 - seat option because the new 5 seating option has not made much difference for comfortable rear seating. In long-term the Tall boy design will help our grandparents and parents to move in and out of the vehicle very easily without bending their backbone much.
5) Value for Money: Overall it is very good and practical vehicle and Wagon-R is not just urban car; you can also go for family holiday in this vehicle. Go for Wagon-R, you will never repend your decision. I feel Premier's RIO interior rear seating is inspired by Wagon-R. From my point of view the advantage of having only front doors power windows is very good safety idea. The reason: if your Wagon-R is caught in water deluge which happened in Mumbai earlier in July-2006 and if your vehicle door is stuck due to water pressure. You will also not be able to operate your power windows without power from vehicle battery (which might not operate if vehicle is under water). In such case the rear doors manual opening of windows should certainly work and you would be able to get out of vehicle within minutes.
Cons:
Body Shape: The width of the vehicle should have been more to accomodate 3 person comfortably in the rear seat.
Tyres: Maruti Suzuki should provide tubeless tyres. As from article which i have read somewhere. The tubeless tyres weigh less than the normal tube tyres. Good for mileage. From safety point of view i think the tubeless tyres would not burst at high speeds. They have better grip on the road. You also do not have to worry about tyre puncture as they can be driven atleast till you find a puncturewala (unless you are stuck in jungle). So always carry a spare tyre incase you don't have one.
For music lovers, there is space which you can use below the quater glass i.e behind the rear seat to fit the speakers by cutting the plastic sheet and fit the speakers or else you can also go for box speakers there is good space in the rear. I am certainly not in favour of having a parcel tray fitment in the rear just for speakers.
Some Safety tips: Always drive as per instruction provided in manual book. Driving any new vehicle above 60 kmph within first 1500 km should be avoided. This will keep the engine smooth and enhance its life. This would certainly help your vehicle to be more economical & maintenance free. On highways and ghats especially for any turning always drive at less than 50 kmph. This will reduce body rollover in extreme turning points. Rest you will learn from my above article. Happy & Safe Driving

when we compare this to Santro - if feel santro has a better build quality (esp the gear box).
LPG - has issues in when your are at lower speeds (not sure this if my car alone - service guys did not do much).
Mileage perspective in city traffic its about 9.5 and highways its about 12.5 with LPG...
Since LPG is about Rs 28. its about 3 Rs per KM... and the break even compared to petrol is after driving for about 20,000 KM (so if you drive a lot - then makes money sense - if you are looking to have a fun car this is not it).
Spares are inexpensiveBuild qulaity is poor, mileage is not consistent, issues with LPGExterior/Styles

Hi Friends,
It was very difficult to choose between Santro and WagonR, but i found WagonR more value for money hatchback.
i liked the new wagonR looks. It is like mini SUV, with roofrails it looks superub. When ever u enter into car it give u a feel of lot of space than Santro. It is having more boot space then Santro also rear seat is completely foldable.
After a lot of study i saw that technology used in WagonR is more advanced than Santro e.g
(1) WagonR engine is more compact and small but produces the same power as Santro
(2) Wagon R engine is having 4 cylinder 16 valves, which is 12 in Santro. More valves are always good for engines life.
(3) Wagon R have Electronic Power Steering but Santro have old hydrolic PS.
(4) Wagon R is equipped with 32 bit on board microprocessor, since 32 bit processor are having more speed than 16 bit therefore it’s MPFI section is very efficient.
(5)More boot and leg space in WagonR than Snatro.
It is having good stability as high speed. I drove max at 130Km/h(with AC on), in Mumbai-Pune express way.
I found it’s drive extremely smooth. Pickup is too good.
Only drawbacks i found in WagonR are:
(1) Boxy look but still it looks fantastic with roofrails
(2) Gear Shifting is not as good as santro xing
(3) Beige interior is not available.
I hope that i cleared the doubt of many friends who r thinking between WagonR and Santro.
Of course if u want to go for look Santro is more good looking car, but if u go technologically WagonR is far ahead of Santro.
Think and Decide…

Exterior Boxy shape - but good space.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are comfortable.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Responsive engine though lacks in power as 1.1 ltr engine. how much it can deliver?
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent for City traffic conditions, very low noise.
Final Words I think when u drive a Wagon R, you are not comfortible in any other car. You become addict of the car and surely will love the car. I m using it since 2 years and hit 40000 km, but the pickup is like a new car. Very low on maintenance and high on fuel efficiency (18 kmpl in city and 20 on high ways with AC). Comfortable for from seats but not for rear. Very powerful AC. Surely it is a Daily use car. I love my car.
Areas of improvement If maruti improves on suspension , braking (ABS) , wheels size and little more power, I am dam sure i will again purchase an improved Wagon R.
Fuel Economy, Comfertable Drivering positionPoor suspension , poor braking

I WILL NEVER AGREE WITH THE REVIEWS OF THOSE WHO SAY THE CAR HAS ANY PROBLEM, IT MAYBE IN A PARTICULAR PIECE OR SO..MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS CAR IS FANTASTIC.tHE CAR RUNS VERY SMOOTH ON PETROL AS WELL AS LPG.INITIALLY THERE WERE A FEW HITCHES RUNNING ON LPG AS I FELT LESS PULLING POWER BUT AFTER THE FIRST SERVICE THE CAR TOTALLY FREAKED ME OUT...IT WAS BUBBLING WITH POWER, I DROVE 350KMS STREIGHT UPHILL TO PITHORAGARH FROM MEERUT ON LPG AND WAS SURPRISED WITH THE KIND OF PICKUP AND POWER ON LPG.
OVERALL A FANTASTIC BUY AND VALUE FOR MONEY.
IF ONLY THE SPARE WHEEL COULD BE ACCOMMODATED BY MARUTI BETTER, COS I ALWAYS FEEL LACK OF BOOT SPACE COS OF THAT OTHERWISE PERFORMANCE WISE A GREAT CAR.
great fuel economy on lpg, runs approx 280+ on lpginteriors need to be improved & powerwindows should be provided in this cost

Avoid Maruti Wagonr LPG & Spectra Motors. Pathetic Service.
This is a car that will fit your budget & being an LPG version product you will assume to have a cheaper running cost & there buy it. The extra cost of the LPG may get recovered within a yr but the downside is that it will put you & your Family in an extremely risky state.
There are two notable points why I say this:
1) Maruti’s claim (contrary to the claims made during sales as notified by its service garages) that Wagon R gives an average of 11 Km per litre (it’s actually just 10.5 Km for both LPG & Petrol) & should be serviced every 5,000 Km. While it therefore has a high running cost it also implies that you end up paying approx Rs 4,000/- (the average bill amount per paid service as per my experience) almost every 50 days (if you use your vehicle for 75 km or more per day). So the vehicle is actually better for short distance/ weekend user since they need to come back after 90 to 120 days.
2) All Maruti service garages are an extension of some sales dealership of Maruti. These dealers are major stakeholders in Maruti’s fight to maintain market share & profits & therefore sales contingencies over ride the customer service expectations of its existing customers. Maruti has lost control over its service garages as they do nothing to ensure good quality mechanics are recruited at garages or services at these garages.
Quantity is no replacement for quality. Maruti obviously does not understand this.
CheapPathetic Service & poor mileage.
