Dear readers,
I am a proud owner of this car for approx 3years and have completed 100000kms. It was a 2nd hand purchase which I did I have used it very extensively for pretty long drives of few thousands of kms also at one stretch.
E.g :- Ranchi Bangalore (up-down) 2 times which itself is coming to a total of approx 5000 kms with visiting nearby places.
Pros of the car are as follows:-
1. Immense space and when seats are reclined then the space becomes comparable to maruti van
2. Good seating position for the front and rear one makes them feel comfortable in long runs.
3. Effective ac of the vehicle beats out the summer in hot 40 degree plus temp also.
4. EPS makes the car more smooth in tight city driving condition and makes the car move like water.
Cons for the car:-
1. Due to height it is sometime giving a feel of unstability at very high speed.
2. Aerodynamic feature is also not very good in that model which also reduces the fuel efficency to some extent.
Overall the car is very brilliant with a powerful and bullet proof engine which is rock solid after 1.5 lac kms also.
If someone can own then this is a car for owning at smaller segment which you can say
"OWNER'S PRIDE AND NEIGHBOUR'S ENVY".

This is one of the most non preffered car by me but when i drove it,it simply changed all my previous thoughts. It has got a good high mount sitting position which really makes it very easy to manoveur yourself in the city.smallest of potholes are visible. The smart new car has got a smarter engine too. But those who cannot understand the meaning of flat torque & its usage than it will be a nightmare for them to understand & will complain of its poor gear shifts.the beauty lies here there is no need to change the gears whether you accelerate or decelerate. The cars torque will take care of it & you will also be less tired with regards gear shifts in the city traffic. The interiors are well appointed with nice rooomy feel to it. The only bad part is that it has provision for 2 speakers only. The EPS is simply great & it automatically switches off once you cross 70 kph & then you will feel the car heavier to turn thus assuring the safety at high speeds. The max speed that car can touch is around 157 kph but with a risk as car feels slight unstaedy over 128 kph. The DUO simply lacks the power & pick up compared to its petrol sibling.
But believe me the wagon R simply glides on the road & the back seaters wont be disappointed as well. The Fuel economy is great with 12.9/ l & 18/l in city & highway depending your style of driving. The wagon r will also fetch you good on resale compared to other cars in its class.
I have recently booked one & i am waiting for its Delivery hope that it would live upto my expecatation which i received during driving the DEMO version
Last but not least always take care with regads safety of youself & those around you.

Well, lot of Wagon-R customer have already provided a lot of pros & cons of the car. Still i am tempted to write about my own experience as i would like to see more of Wagon-R's on the road. I would like to see everyone owing 'Value for Money' vehicle. After lot of research for a year i suggested my father to purchase new Wagon-R instead of going for second hand vehicle. Model - Dec 2005. It has clocked 19,000 km on odometer till date. Trust me guys if use it carefully and if maintained well, you will never face trouble with Wagon-R. Practical & Good vehicle for small & middle-class families.
Pros:
1) Space : Spacious for 4 people, extremely practical seating which can be used as reclining seats - creating bed for two to sleep. Its boot space is also more spacious than any other cars costing upto 5 Lacs. Good legroom for front & rear seats. There is also lot of utility space inside the vehicle for example: space in dashboard, on all doors, between the two front seats etc. You can also check and confirm.
2) Ecomomical : My Wagon-R's city mileage is 13.2 kmpl without a/c. Around 12.5 kmpl with a/c. Mileage on highway 19 kmpl without a/c. 16-17 kmpl with a/c. To achieve such mileage the Wagon-R should be driven only between 55-70 kmph
3) Maintenance Free: Apart from normal servicing twice a year which might cost you around 2000 rupees or even more depending upon the kilometer it has run or as per periodic maintenance schedule. The spare parts are really cheap. You must always get your vehicle serviced only at authorised dealers as they are well equipped with proper expertise & equipments to service your car.
4) Practical: To tacke the urban areas traffic & parking problems & practical living it is always better to have small car. For family of four - five members; Wagon-R is the best option. Boot space is good enough to hold lot of luggage. Rear seats are independtly foldable, making space for more luggage - sadly this option is not available with new Wagon-R. Maruti Suzuki should have continued with 4 - seat option because the new 5 seating option has not made much difference for comfortable rear seating. In long-term the Tall boy design will help our grandparents and parents to move in and out of the vehicle very easily without bending their backbone much.
5) Value for Money: Overall it is very good and practical vehicle and Wagon-R is not just urban car; you can also go for family holiday in this vehicle. Go for Wagon-R, you will never repend your decision. I feel Premier's RIO interior rear seating is inspired by Wagon-R. From my point of view the advantage of having only front doors power windows is very good safety idea. The reason: if your Wagon-R is caught in water deluge which happened in Mumbai earlier in July-2006 and if your vehicle door is stuck due to water pressure. You will also not be able to operate your power windows without power from vehicle battery (which might not operate if vehicle is under water). In such case the rear doors manual opening of windows should certainly work and you would be able to get out of vehicle within minutes.
Cons:
Body Shape: The width of the vehicle should have been more to accomodate 3 person comfortably in the rear seat.
Tyres: Maruti Suzuki should provide tubeless tyres. As from article which i have read somewhere. The tubeless tyres weigh less than the normal tube tyres. Good for mileage. From safety point of view i think the tubeless tyres would not burst at high speeds. They have better grip on the road. You also do not have to worry about tyre puncture as they can be driven atleast till you find a puncturewala (unless you are stuck in jungle). So always carry a spare tyre incase you don't have one.
For music lovers, there is space which you can use below the quater glass i.e behind the rear seat to fit the speakers by cutting the plastic sheet and fit the speakers or else you can also go for box speakers there is good space in the rear. I am certainly not in favour of having a parcel tray fitment in the rear just for speakers.
Some Safety tips: Always drive as per instruction provided in manual book. Driving any new vehicle above 60 kmph within first 1500 km should be avoided. This will keep the engine smooth and enhance its life. This would certainly help your vehicle to be more economical & maintenance free. On highways and ghats especially for any turning always drive at less than 50 kmph. This will reduce body rollover in extreme turning points. Rest you will learn from my above article...........Happy & Safe Driving

Any one who is looking for a sporty hatchback with gr8 performance give this car a pass. But in its own rights this is a very practical car for modular families living in the city.
It has very good manuvourablity in the city and is easy to drive in dense traffic conditions.Rear legroom is good for 2.Fuel economy is good with 12 in city and abt 16-17 in the highway with ac on. Boot is of very good size for a car of its size. This car has a gem of a engine n will hardly give u any problem n maintainance required is very less.
But its not very confidence inspiring on the highway above speeds of 130km/hr bt is quite stable at 100-110 km/hr.The gearshift is pathetic n u will hav a hard time using it in the beginning. The interior is average. And the poor ground clearance will make sure that you need to be on your nerves on bad indian roads.
Overall its a very good car inspite of having its flaws and matches its competitors in everyway.
Great all rounder,ease to drive in city,good boot space....Horrifying gearshift,rear visibilty...Exterior/Styles

I recently bought one in August 07. This is a cool car for its features, space, interior utilities, Driving position, ease of driving, smoothest and strainfree power steering, Cool n big electrically operated left and right mirrors, foldable backseat, comfortable seats, multi trip electronic odometer, very silent and responsive engine, nice looking sleek steering wheel, and last but not the least powerful AC.
In city driving conditions the mileage will not drop below 12 under any circumstances. Engine is so silent that I had given it ignition more than couple of times even when it was On and was idling at traffic signal.. now I check the tachometer before i give ignition.
Has new cool looks too. its a breeze to drive this car and i am very happy with it.
Only problem is that the gear shift takes time to get used to.

This is my first car. As many, I was too confused between Wagon R, i10, Santro and new Estilo. Finally after a deep research and study, I chose Wagon R to be my first car. This is a real good family car. I would like to put in WagonR's adv. which I found:
> Very first, it's a Maruti product, which I believe is most reliable brand in India.
> It gives ample leg space both front and rear. Only if a 6ft kind a person sits in front and pushes back seat, leg space reduces for the rear passenger.
> Boot space is largest in its class.
> Comes with a 1.1 L engine which has a very low noise and is sufficient for everyday city drive. Even on highways, it can easily reach 130+ km/hr.
> There are many small pockets where you can keep magazines, toll receipts, coins, CDs etc.
> Driving is a real pleasure. You can keep on driving for hours, no problem.
> Many say it is dangerous to take sharp turns in WagonR, but I have taken sharp turns with 80+ km/hr and felt no fear. Of course, don't expect a sedan's performance here.
> I went for VXi (top end) model, comes with front and rear fog lamps, rear defogger, front power windows, electrically adjustable OVRMs, beige upholstery, dashboard with RPM meter, boot light and other standard fitments. Fog lamps really help on night highway drivings.
> Only thing I got less than expectation is gear shifting. It is not smooth. Shifting from 2 to 3 is even harder.
> I experienced less effective braking in first couple of days, but after 500+- km run, I now feel braking is good. And after first servicing, it has improved.
> Power steering works very fine. I have heard problems with i10's power steering, so this is one of the reasons to choose WagonR.
> I bought my car from Chowgule, Satara Road, Pune. I got best service & good discount from the showroom and representative we spoke to.
Overall, it's an ideal family car / small car / first car. I am truly satisfied with my car's performance.
