      Hi,

I have been driving this Wagon-R LXi of mine since 14 Feb 2004 & till date I have not replaced the batteries of it even, it has done almost 59,000Kms as on date with Fuel economy of 17.26Kms-p-L (with AC) while I drive it at 80~90KmpH with daily drive of 70~80 Kms. I have always poured Xtra Premium / Speed petrol & always got it serviced on time with Castrol Magnatec as Engine Oil always...

My Car Mechanics of MotorCraft have shown that my car can actually give me 22KmpL if driven @55KmpH steadily. I love my car very much, one can not say that the car is more than 5 yrs old by looking & driving it.

I just replaced all the 4 tyres with the same Bridgestone tyres just out of my wish as they had done 50,000+ Kms (but were in good condition).

Planning to buy an SX4 ZXi to prove that I can get 15+ KmpL out of it... 😉

      I am sure I can do it...😄

      Regards

      D Mukherjee

The Wagon R is based on the very Japanese way of creating cars; in japan small cars must pass strict dimensional regulations. That's the reason why maruti cars are not wide, so the only way to liberate space is by going up. Thus making the car look disproportionately tall, this brought about the Tall boy design which can also be seen in the Hyundai Santro. I agree that the design is very like it or leave it; but the fact that the Wagon R is able to consistently sell more than 8000 units every month goes to show that people

Good car but I feel the road grip should be improved for proper and fast driving. I think that there is some error in the car's CG (Center of Gravity). If the interiors are more attractive it would be the best of its kind. Also from the begining of its launch, there seems to be no major changes in its style. It would be better if they bring some sporty look in its original shape.  And my suggestion for the makers is, if they could bring it costs to the reach of middle class family, I mean if the price of the basic model with AC on road closes by Rupees 3,00,000/-, they can make best sales when compared to others cars of its kind, why because is Maruthi Suzuki, the brand values a lot.

Its amazing car which is good enough to carry families with thier belonging, small family can use the car as a small truck, just fold the back seat and u'll be amazed to see the boot space, easy for carrying goods

Its economical in price and good average, one can save lot of maney as its good in average on top of it its engine is also good enough to drive in hills, you can enjoy maountain ride.its a complete car for tours.

The only problem with this car is the shocker which is improved in their new versions.

      WAGON R is SMALL WONDER.😉

I  have driven  all types of Cars. But  this car tuches  my heart, As it is more spacious and looks like a small new born  child. In the hilly terrain like  my  native place. I never feel discomfort in this  car and enjoyed the voyage , especially long.It values  money and paying to all those are having the same.

In the toidays  world, particularly in the Indian subconitnents  context, when the parkingg area's are  shrinking day by day. This really gives a satisfaction those are having less space for parking and are ennoyed with the path wanderers, who  hardly cares about this lovely present of the Maruti Suzuki.

My friend, who are well to do and are jealous with this car that , it really makes the dreams true of ones who  used to  ride in the  Big cars. That might  be comfortable in the super highways, which is  lacking in  our Beloved  country.

good fuel economy and styleless spacious

Wagon R is an amazing product i have ever come across..Being a proud owner of one for a long time now, i can guarentee the buyer a nice fuel efficient car  for its class with good pickup and most importantly , with a silent engine. My respect and love to this car doubled when i experienced the road grip of the car because of which i am still alive though i did a rash driving session which would have costed my life had it been on any other small car. OVERALL.....A great buy..... you will love it for the smoothness, road grip and the tall boy feature .......

WagonR is a very good option if you are looking at having a budget car that gives max. value for money and also a comfortable ride for 4 people. The only drawback is the gear shift for which you get adjusted after few days of usage( We Indians are known for that?)

The driving position is very good and is helpful for city conditions where we have roads that are clogged almost through out the day. As its from Maruti, no worries of maintainance & service. A good buy at the price instead of going for Hyundai cars.

Good City Car and overall comfortable drving position. To certain extent the shape and the Gear Shift

Before deciding on which car to go for, decide what it is you want. If you want to buy a good car and have lots of money to throw around, look for some other car (other than a WagonR). If you need a lot of boot space and are a frequent traveller, look for some other car. If you want a car that you will keep only for a year or so and then plan to sell, then again look for some other car (because after a year with a WagonR, you surely will love it too much to sell it!)!!

OK...OK...now that I have told you what you wont find in a WagonR, let me get down to why to buy a WagonR!

A little over a year and a half ago, when I was planning on buying car, I put down my requirements as:
      1) affordable (4 lakhs at the most)
      2) comfortable (I am 5’11’’ and I needed something that I would not have to wriggle into and squirm out of!) 3) something cozy for my family (4 of us!)
      4) nice-looking (kind of!)

Cmfortable for the entire family whether small or tall person. Noiseless and smooth in Driving. All segements are well taken care of. I had very bad experience with Maruti/Suzuki's Dealer (M/S competent, CP). I submitted the feedback covering all the points and sent to  its Delhi Office.  Not a single person wrote, phones, SMSed or mailed any regrets or even acknowledgement.  From 3rd September 2008 till this date (16.3.2009) there is no reminder call or any customer oriented appraisal/invitation from Competent, CP even for service. I got service from DD Mayapuri. I persuaded my friend to buy his Alto and referred to Rana Motors and I am pleased that ine one and half month he got invitations, gifts and enquiries about the vehicle in addition to a great delivery experience.  Suzuki should act on the feedback instead of reducing it to be a mere formality. I recommend buyers to verify from previous customers before deciding to buy from a Suzuki Dealer. Regards.

      Gud Experience

Very balanced and Informative review and some real good observations.

While switching from Petrol to LPG it takes a few seconds for the car to fire normally that is what gives the feeling as if the car is braking.

One minor correction that i would like to suggest about your review. You have mentioned that you are worried about the valve lubrication as Petrol provides it. Well here is the correction.

Petrol DOES NOT provide any lubrication, infact its the opposite, hence Petrol and LPG both have similar effect, lubrication is done by the engine oil.
If you have noticed burning petrol does not emit smoke, while Diesel and Kerosene (used in aircrafts as well as for cooking) emit black smoke. This is due to the aromatic compounds present in Diesel and Kerosene.

The aromatic compounds provide lubrication as well as emit black smoke if burnt. Hence Diesel and Kerosene are lubricating in nature. Kerosene is extensively used for cleaning machine parts due to this reason.
