      Hi,

Having owned the Swift Dzire Vdi for over 4 months now. Following are my observations till now :

      1. The buying decision is tough for the VDI model since the Ford Ikon TDCI is priced around 5,20,000 and has better fuel economy, however when you consider resale value and cost of maintainence, Dzire is better.
      2. The mileage initially was around 17-19 however after the first service if the rev counter is kept below the 2000 RPM mark then the mileage even with A/C can go upto 20-22.
      3. The car has reasonably well equipped music system, powerful A/C , good stance while driving.
      4. However the downside is the turbo lag which is felt rarely. Also the tyres are too thin and while braking suddenly the tail spins to the left.

      The car extremely good overall.

I now drive myself,as its a good car to drive, adequately powered,as for the boot its deceptively spacious, it would be better if they had installed parking sensors . good milage for a car of this size.Very reliable on city roads, requires frequent gear change to stop the engine from fluttering-its not as they claim.very stable on the road and bends .But gets a bit slower with five adult on  board (including driver)As per the companys reputation the car didnt give me a even single littlest of trouble in one calender year.Maruti Sukuzi is the market leader not for nothing (with one or two exceptions-but everybody knows-exception proves the law)

value for money, all standard comfort and safety features presentlow ground clearance

Before buying Dzire I test drove some other cars. Finally decide to go with Dzire ZDi . The dzire is excellent in terms of handling and driving comfort. Within three months I drove 5000 kms. The longest stretch of driving was for 555 kms from pune to hyderabad. Being a novice in long drives I touched a highest speed of 140 kms/hour. the drive was smooth. The adjustable steering and adjustable drivers seat give lots of comfort while driving.Having ABS was worth.  Overall value for money car.

great style, fuel economynot so good interiors, and music system

I have driven the D’Zire VDI for over 10,000km in the last 6 months. I have driven it through the rains and also in the winter and in normal conditions. After having tested the vehicle over all the
different conditions (except for deserts and snow) I can confidently claim that this is the car to own. It is comfortable to drive and handle.

It gives me 16.5 km in the city with the AC and up to 18 km in the city without the AC (tried this in the cool mornings of winter).

It is very low on maintenance and doesn’t require any special care to keep it going. For people
wishing to buy a car in the sub 7 lakh bracket, this is a serious choice.

More things that I liked are the pick up. In spite of being a diesel car it has a good pick up. There is hardly any vibration to the engine and very low engine noise.

      Overall a very good car.

People may call it an extension of swift, but in real sense, it's not just that !

fcourse, it has an extended boot-space, which  perfectly  blends with its overall design.. and is really spacious.

the car on the whole, gives both, the blend of swift as well as sx4.

the car is really sturdy on road.

fuel economy, is pretty impressive though, it's nearly equivalent to that of swift..

      has got a good pickup..

the internal features are pretty impressive as well..

though, i beleive they could have done a bit on the front, by extending it a bit more..

Even though i said its "best in budget" swift Dzire never compramizes with any factor !

following are some pros of Dzire Diesel:

      1. The engine is outstanding: very quit and powerfull. its gives average of 20-23 kmpl.

      2. Torque of engine is very good (the reason why i like diesel cars), this car keeps pulling so much in 2nd gear that many times i have to come to 1st gear to control its speed in city.

      3. Stearing is very smooth you really enjoy playing with the car(a comman feature of Swift). moreover even being a sedan the turning radius is very small as compared to other sedans.

      4. my friends say its as good as a Skoda Octavia in half the price

      5. space: space in cabin is average, but the extra coushined and tilted rear seats will never let you feel any need of extra space. my family prefered dzire for comfort over indigo xl. becoz RIDE COMFORT is much important than SPACE.

6.nice features: central locking which locks all doors when u reach spped of 25km/hrand many more.

      7. best in class safety features (swift was rated 4start out of five in crash tests). it has a very strong chasis and structure.

      some cons:

      1. the interiors are average, well a dashboard trim has helped me a lot.

      2. rear view of car is not good, but its not very discomforting.

      3. the body metal(only covering) in very thin(even fruits falling from tree made small dips on the bonnet).

i dont feel any one can get a better buy in this category than Dzire

      :)

good fuel economy(Diesel) and style, smooth power strearing and ride qualityinteriors are average, space is average

The Experience cant be written in 250 words. I am the first to drive the RED Swift dzire(ZDi) in GAndhinagar gujarat.I got his car one year back. I am a real proud owner of this car. When we go out in this car we feel sporty also as the look gives the effect and when Dad drives the look goes to business as it is sedan model. It is really spacious. The red colour gives us a spark of driving this car all time.

My baby boy Aaryan was the one to take over the car key from the showroom people who is really lucky for us.I am attaching the photo with this to view our experience

      Thanking you

Maruti and Hyundai are probably the 2 best car makers that offers low cost of maintanence, trouble free ride and high fuel efficiency in the entry level sedan segment. I don't personally prefer a Tata and Ford cars because of problems faced by my friends who own these cars respectively. Logan still have to prove itself. Hyundai has Accent which is good and proven but that is old model and the fuel efficiency is not that good. So, that leaves one with only Dzire.

The car is good in terms of mileage, performance, interiors and maintenance although I do not like the exteriors that much. This car is basically swift only with the boot space extension. So, the pros and cons of Swift also applies here except for the boot space.

Overall good value for money. Go for it if you can wait as this car comes with a waiting period which is very annoying.

DZire ZXi is what I wanted to own after a much needed survey in the market. Finally got it in Jan.2009 without any delay.

      City mileage is 13 km/l

      Highway is around 14.5 km/l

Its a comfortable car, installed a camera on the rear bumper and that really helps.

Car on crowded hilly terrain needs some push.

Overall a damn good car with all built in things, does not have a USB connector in the sound system of Nippon.

I understand that this is not the forum for Hyundai i10 review.  But there is one important message that i want to pass on to as many people as possible, so that they don't commit the same  mistake. I  recently booked an Hyundai  i10 Era from a DSA  i.e  a sub-dealer.  Large discount is what that attracted me to these theives.  I just somehow managed to get the delivery of my vehicle (though my payment was outright and the whole payment being made on the booking day itself).  I  had many sleepless nights from the day of booking till the day of delivery.  Believe me, if  God forbid, you get stuck with these guys,  there is really nobody who can help you in this case, NOT EVEN  HYUNDAI.  i really regret my decision of not booking my car at an authorised Hyundai Showroom.  My advice to all those who are reading this review is to learn from my mistake and to educate/ spread awareness about this issue amongst friends.  When we are spending so much amount, why can't we spend a little extra just to ensure that our hard-earned money is in safe hands.
