this car was bought by my dad since we needed one car for city purposes. we already had a xuv 500 in family but sometimes city driving of that was quite of a task. Our budget was around 4-5 lac rupees. We were looking for many options like i20, i10, figo, but then we decided to buy this one. Suzuki has always been leading the score boards of sales in india and will be on the top always. after so many years, i have driven around 40000 kms and everytime I get on to the throttle it gives a huge smile on my face. Engine to weight ratio and body roll is well maintained.
Whenever you think to overtake, just drop down a gear and vanish into the skies. Thats the legacy of this motor. Steering wheel comes form the same family of cars which make miserable steering wheels of ciaz and baleno, but one in this is really nice. It has been a fun to drive vehicle just lacks in space somehow. Boot space is non existing and rear passengers space is average. Whereas front seats are quite supportive. leg room, head room is one on upper end and under thigh support is decent for the front row. clutch feels very soft and gear and shifts are slick. It has always been a gem of my heart. We never planned very long trips in this but trips to about 100 kms where done a plenty of times. maintenance has never been a issue on this one. i never went to a local mechanic even for small issues as company service centers always treated the car so nicely and its not that expensive. Servicing cost was always minimal and after around seven years it had little issue with jumping rod. The mechanic at the service station said part will be replaced. There were in total 4 parts that cost me around 2400 rupees. And that is not a major price i think. So if somebody is looking to buy themselves wheels in used car market, this would be an exceptional choice. 2nd generation swift is available around 2-2.5 lac rupees in used car markets. One thing that could be better is its build quality. Suzuki should definitely work upon its build as rivals are offering much better build. it returns a mileage of 15 kmpl in city and 20 kmpl on highways for the petrol. that is my review of the second generation swift petrol. Thank you.
