The aura surrounding the car was impeccable and not even its age could hamper its demand, with customers waiting for long to get hold of it even after all these years. So bringing a refreshed version of the ever youthful car was always going to be a challenge for Maruti. It needed to look better than the outgoing car with the Swift DNA intact. So the new Swift (YP8) was born, to take forward the legacy of Swift in India.
The styling changes are not so radical and look strikingly similar to the old Swift. One quick look of the new car and it is quite difficult to spot many differences from the old car for any car enthusiast. Take a closer look and then the differences start to pop out- a longer bonnet, new design Kizashi inspired face and grilles, elongated headlamps, new design alloys, VVT badging, more curves and i20ish rear with number plate at center. On the whole the new car looks longer and stretched from the current car, with no exceptional styling changes.
