Well after loads of research I settled for a Swift VXi, and was I pleased with my choice? You bet ! Diesel was not an option anyway, since I’m a power-hungry city-dwelling guy, though VDi is a terrific cruise they say on the highways.
I’ve done about 6000+ kms now in about 5 months and the ride thus far has been euphoric to say the least, the Swift just does’nt go about doing stuff normally - it rocks.
After doing 2000 kms Blore-Goa-Blore covering all terrain - pot-holed Blore roads, half made toll-guzzling highways, rough interior roads, well done
Well here’s a top-seller from a car-makers stable known for their un-paralleled service network, top-notch service & after sales support.
SportyGood looks, power-packed engine, effortless handler, super road grip & ground clearance, spacious at the back, I ask myself what more could you get……well, may be a few kms more of mileage would have helped. It gave me 13.5 km on the highway with AC and 12 km in ‘
Well there’s still no real competition for a Swift, come i20, Jazz, Punto, et al. As a package they just dont come upto Swift. Ritz ?? some other day, kid brother.
I’d like to end this review with some sore points about the Swift though I don’t rate these as factors which’ll force someone not to buy this beauty, but they sure do stick out I suppose.
1) Sometimes, only sometimes, I’ve felt the suspension a little hard, while doing some really rough roads around
2) Ive’ felt the front visibility tricky sometimes, due to the right pillar sloping down the front at the right corner, which renders the driver a little less ready for vehicles approaching suddenly from the right !
3) The boot. Well, the space is enough to take in the luggage of four of you on a really long drive, but not enough to carry back some stuff you liked out there. Just about 2 suitcases & 2 bags can fit in there.
