This is about the s cross alpha. It has a really cool look on the exterior when you compare it with the previous version of the s cross. The interior does not really suit the price. It could have been better, atleast in the top models. I have driven around 3500 km in my car so far. Nexa claims to have a mileage of around 25 kmpl.

But in my personal experience, the mileage in the city ranges between 16 - 18 kmpl and for long drives, you may get a mileage of 20-21 kmpl, tops. The Automatic climate control system is cool, although the lack of rear ac vents is a bit obvious, especially in a country like ours where we have hot summers, and the government not allowing the use of sun films on window glasses.

The interior is spacious and 5 people can fit into it quite easily. However the ground clearance is lower compared to SUVs and therefore one must be cautious near larger humps while travelling with the car fully occupied. Also nexa claims that the cabin noise is meagre, but this is untrue. The cabin noise is a bit too loud and you will definitely have to get accustomed to it while driving at lower gears. Another drawback is that it is difficult to overtake another vehicle unless you cross the 2000 RPM mark.

This is solely due to the 1.3 L engine. Hence, the gear has to be always changed to a lower one if you have to quickly overtake a vehicle. The Android smartplay infotainment system is excellent, and easy to use. The handling of the car is really smooth and it is a good buy if you plan on going for long rides.

This is really appreciable as Nexa has been able to minimize the body roll of the vehicle, especially while driving at turns. Yet another thing we will notice is that the car is really stable, even at speeds over 100 kmph( Don't overspeed owing to this feature and endanger yourself amd others ??) The SHVS is nice and the Brake energy restart is really helpful at the traffic signals.

But not quite sure whether it lowers the fuel consumption though. The day time running lamps are a standout and the led headlamps and tail lights make the car standout and gives it a premium look, especially at night. On the whole, the S cross is a good car to buy, but Maruti could have corrected some of the errs in making by providing a 1.5 L engine and Rear Ac vents.

The car weighs around 1700 kg and asking a 1.3 L engine to pull it is like child labour. But the weight shouldn't be reduced, or the stability will be lost. If these two problems are addressed, then this car would be a fun ride and will outplay all of the other cars in its segment.

P.S: I love this car(except when I am overtaking another vehicle??).
