Exterior Front is gr8.Got a Fier Brick Red Metallic Ritz*.*(Swift has more sober colours.)*The Rear has Boomerang style taillamps look great!!!!!!!!!!!!!*U-VA seems a bit better in term of look*.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors looks great-*A Tasty Blue Colour.*i10 and U-VA may have beige and are better but Ritz beats because it gets accesories of the Zxi Audio System and maybe Blue Zxi Seat Covers.*The Ritz Vdi gets full + marks.ABS is also standard.Space is good and only Split Seats,good for space and no need to worry for 236-litre boot.Better comfort and high seats and better head-room than Swift-Rear Seats of Ritz are good for adults and kids.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 75PS Fiat engine is great and good power.The 11.2 Kpl FE is not great but great GearShift and easy to reach.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Ride and handling is good and feels like a 103PS car!!!

 

Final Words Do not check Swift and Nissan Micra early and check Ritz also for Looks and Interiors.

Presently, I am driving Maruti 800. After doing lot of web research including valuable reviews on Carwale.com etc. and subsequent visits to the Maruti dealer, i have booked Ritz Lxi version on 21/11/10. i am expected to take delivery of the car on 5/12/10. Since I have not yet driven the car for some time, i will not be able to comment on its performance.

 

Exterior I found it beautiful with imposing front and altogether different rear .  yes; people do frawn at times after looking at its rear.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Lot of space inside. Good comfortable seats thought rear seat does'nt has head restraint.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Can not comment. Gear throw is conveniently located on the waterfall console.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Due to its dimensions, the vehicle appears to be smooth and balanced on road. Morever, I don't drive at high speed. I like to cruise at moderate speed even on highways with my family members with me.

 

Final Words I am waiting to pick up my vehicle and then I will gauge the performance of the vehicle.

 

Areas of improvement Can not comment at this stage.

 Honestly, gear box could've been smoother...this is only a clear put-off..specially in lower (1st, 2nd) gears & reverse...

Final Words

 Awesome buy specially a top-end with super cool features (stearing mounted controls, tilted steering ect) with price of 5.50L... No wonder there's waiting period of 1.5months for this.

Areas of improvement  

 Gear box can be smoother. Need to upgrade music system (no USB, no DVDs can be read)... dashboard can be smaller to reduce heat in direct sun

Exterior Although people have been very sceptical about its styling, I do believe that the car has a unique and new design which you take time to get used to. Its tall boy styling makes it very comfortable to get in and out. My family members confess that before buying they were always making fun of the car but they never knew they would own one soon. To be precise, it looks amazing at some angles but equally pathetic at others. I have no grudges with its back though.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Complains about Maruti Suzuki not making the basic model of its cars loaded with any features should make some impact. I have a feeling that I just got a car with AC. But speaking about the space and comfort I am completely satisfied. There's a lot of space for tall people and in the back seat too there's a lot of leg room. The seats are comfortable and u can snug in. The 60:40 split in the back seat is very useful

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is the best in the class to be precise. But fuel economy and gearbox are not up to the mark. I expected a fuel economy of 15+ from the beginning but I didn't get better than 11 in the summers with 90% AC on. Its only now after the rains started pouring and the temperatures cooled down did the fuel economy climb to 12-13. I just got my second service done and I hope for a better fuel economy now. I only drive in the city though. Gearbox is not very smooth specially the reverse gear. Even at the service they confessed that gearbox is a common problem with Ritz.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Its a nice car to drive. Sticks to the road and quite easy to turn on high speeds. Revs and vrooms!!!

 

Final Words Definitely the better car among its competitors (majorly due to Maruti attached to its name) but swift does make me think did i make the right choice.

 

Areas of improvement Gearbox and fuel economy. Special problems with my car - Wipers do not clean properly and some noises on the driver side door. 

 

Power, Comfort, Ride HandlingFuel Economy

 

Exterior I dont know if I am biased because i own a car but i really like the look especially from behind. Also the way headlights slope off tight corners are really easy now.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) People at the back have space and they dont have to crouch to get in.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gear shift is not as smooth as the i10 but I am not complaining.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Good responsive steering. dont know if can take corners at high speeds. instintivcely feel the need to slow down.I had an alto 1.1 which i could take corners even at 90. the car would go into a skid but i never felt that it might topple. not so sure with the ritz though.

 

Final Words Good overall package.

 

Areas of improvement The A pillar is causing a very big blind spot on the right. missed a few bikes and people trying to cross the roads. Also the air inlet for the AC is placed in such a way that whatever is on the windscreen will eventually find its way into the inlet. very difficult to get your vaccum cleaner there to suck it out. All these car wash guys just blow it in. cant park my car underneath any trees.

Exterior The exteriors are great except for the rear of the car, which was not appealing for everyone. However, with time and with a numbers of Ritzs on road, the rear styling is eyed in totally different perspective now.

My rating: 8/10.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Has a lot of space being a tall boy. The seating is comfortable and interiors are best from what Maruti has to offers amongst hatchbacks including Swift.

My rating: 9/10.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great K series engine, Super FE, Gear ratios and performance is optimised for the Indian roads.

My rating: 10/10.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Handling is great. However, the braking is not top notch and passengers on rear seats do feel the bumps on road.

My rating: 08/10.

 

Final Words Super family car and a great first car. Tall family - go for this offering from Maruti stable.

 

Areas of improvement Ride quality could be improved further to match the Volkswagon Polos and the Figos.

Exterior Before purchasing this, i also had the same feel as many had.  After i own this, this is having the best looking exterior.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) If equipped with he cup holders and rear door bottle holder will help a lot for the users.  I feel maruti betrayed the owners in providing this.  Otherwise excellent interior look with above average quality of plastic parts.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good smooth engine.  low noise.  some times i used to have doubt that whether engine is running or not.

The rear gear alone slightly hard.  I hope with more usage this will get improved. I learned driving after purchasing this car.  The fuel economy is good considering the 1.20 litre engine.  I am getting aroung 16 per litre even on my driving on high way before my second service.  expecting some more improvement after second service.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Most the time the speed clocks around 130 kmph without giving the feeling that u are touching that speed.  Since the RPM meter is better placed, we will come to know by seeing that we have crossed the barrier. There is no vibration inside the vechicle even at 140 kmph.

 

Final Words I thought of buying Swift, but changed my mind to Ritz because of its exterior look and comparatively better priced one for the same engine and comfort.

 

Areas of improvement Should be equiped with cup holders, and reard door bottle holders.

I have purchased ritz (D) LDI on 22nd Aug. 2011. Before buying this. I was pretty confused which one to buy. I was open for ford figo, Indigo , Punto and Swift. I also tried BEAT(D) but didnt find it a good car. IN Ford figo, I find very less head space, engine less power and little bit of noise pollution as well as their employees were not so good in behaviour. Indigo I left due to its TAXI image as well as its poor body material used. Punto I left due to its poor resale value and no attractive looks. Swift I have to wait a lot as well as the price of LDI was 5 lac 90 thousand (Including CD player, RC, Insurance and front two power windows and manual central locking).

Then I actually came to the idea of buying  RITZ LDI Diesel, As it is giving me lot of benefits over others like Its diesel powerful engine. Its inside spacing Its driving comfort as its gear box and steering are at very nicely positioned to drive. Its on road price (saved atleaset 55000 over Swift LDI) Its performance I have done only 1000 km till date but i am happy with their after sales service also .

Exterior Good look, nice metalic finish and innovative back!!! which grabs immediate attention. Some may not agree that the exterior looks good but if you see the no.s are increasing in the roads like how it happened for Swift earlier.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space comfort is great. 60:40 option gives more flexibility while planning for a long drive. But the plastics used for interiors are off poor quality it look like they bought it from some platform shops. That needs realy focus from Suzuki/Maruthi.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Low noice engine, good performance, good stability @140 km/h. But the back seat passenger may not feel that great but it is good when compared to same class vehicle.

Ride Quality & Handling Riding quality was very good and the company once again proved that power steering used are good in class. Smooth driving.
