The buying experience was okay. I wanted to take my first car that to first in family and coming from a middle class family it was a huge pressure for me to make the best choice. I chose ignis because of few reasons which I looked in my research: 1) 180mm of Ground clearance The ground clearance in a huge deal for any Indian environment living anywhere. The monsoons always bring the best digs in our roads and having 40mm more than the latest competition was a huge benefit as, I don't have to worry about my car getting scratched from beneath. 2) 3 star Ncap rating: safety was also a priority with me bear with me if I say that I have experience that this car is better build than swift and Baleno of the same manufacturer. I know maruti is not known for the build quality and I don't make a claim that this car is best in its price but I can say that hood and tail gate are heavily build and it has airbags and abs ebd and all basic safety features right from the starting model. 3) Engine: Can you imagine it has the same engine as Baleno which is known for its performance and average and overall usability on city driving and highways. Having the smoothest engine that to a 4 cylinder is a huge plus that to nobody cab doubt a maruti engine reliability and smoothness. 4) Space: this car has better seating space than most cars under 5,80,000 price mark. 5) Resale value: as this car is my first I kept in mind that fact the there would be a need for a bigger car in coming years and i wanted a car which would hold its value in the market. maruti cars are know for there value in resale. As i did my research and have also gone to check other manufacturers most of them forgetting Renault and Nissan, i found that paying over 6,50,000 to get a hatchback was not making sense for me that to getting a 4 seater either way yes some features are not there but I have noticed one thing, have you noticed that the more features pack car is and the more it has all this no use just show features the more they are expensive to maintain and they always sort of fall in some or other issues during everyday use. I wanted a safe car a good car not an tablet to watch and sit. That was my view.
