Exterior Exteriorss are good for this price
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Many minor issues which should have been taken care of like, rear ac duct noisy (Sai service were not able to fix this since last six months), Air escapes in the cabin while speeding (Sai service people sorted out 50%, 50% they are unable to sort out), Can not say it is a comfortable car.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Bit under power but ok for the mileage.
Ride Quality & Handling Except driver seat all other seats have a horrible ride if not laden with much weight.
Final Words If you are looking for low price cheap option it is ok. If you are non Maruti user dont even think about it. Routine servicing very expensive. They say they use synthetic oil but I doubt whether they even bother to change oil as oil looks black even after servicing. My vehicle's jack got faulty at first puncture itself and they took 25 days to replace it. Any problem to resolve takes weeks and I was late for third servicing by few hundred kms and they charged exxtra!!!

Model bought: Ertiga CNG VXI
A great value for money family car by Maruti.
Pros: Excellent mileage, spacing, practicality, dual AC vent, leg room, easy drivablity, compact dimensions to suit city needs.
Cons: Rear wiper, Third row seat neck rest, steering mounted controls, ABS option not available in CNG, Less powerful headlights.
Issues: Air cutting noise above 80km/hr speed.
Detailed review:
Spacing:
Phenomenal amount of work have been fone by Maruti to create such a compact car to serve every need of the customer. Even with CNG maruti has fitted the tank in such a way that their has been no compromise with the third seat. I must say that third row seat is pretty much comfortable for average individual for short distances. With all the seats occupied Eritga has almost no boot space due to CNG tank but when third row seat folded it give more space than a normal sedan.
Drivablity:
Its just as good as driving a sedan. Very comfortable seating with great visiblity. It has good ground clearance backed by great suspension absorbs almost all the city bumps.
Pick up is little slow when the car starts in CNG but once it reaches 20kmhr the drive is absolutely smooth. Switching from petrol to cng is very smooth without any time lag.
Only two concerns:
One is when you drive on expressway when the speed crosses 80kmhr there is a wierd air cutting noise which keeps increasing with speed. Even service stations are not able to resolve this.
Second is without ABS it is little dangerous to drice beyond 100kmhr.
Apart from these two the car is fantastic to drive and almost zero engine noise inside the cabin.
Amenities:
Music system, power windows, central locking, key less entry, dual AC vent
What it lacks is steering mounted controls which are a kind of must have features in today's world.
Dual AC vent is good for cooling during morning and evening drives but for a proper after noon drive say above 40degree it cannot cool the cabin to a great extent. But still is managable.
Power:
Power is just enough to carry 7 passenger and have a comfortable ride. It lacks initial pickup with cng but it is quiet managable by shifting gears to lower levels. Rest car never let you feels a rational driver powerless. Excellent
Mileage:
Here is the place where Ertiga is miles ahead when compared to its competitors. With cng option it easily delivers 12-14km per kg in city traffic with AC and 20-22km per kg on highway. With cng price at ~40 rs per kg it arrives to roughly 2Rs per km or even lower. Driving becomes very economical with Ertiga. I guess cng option is the best compliment which maruti has given this car to make it a very attractive option for people who have cng infrastructure in place.
Overall:
Ertiga is best option for a person who wish to have option occansional 7 people or For a five seater with huge boot space. Its cost of driving is so low with cng that it makes overall ownership cost very less when conpared to petrol or diesel models. Lack some of the basic features but when compared to the overall package which comes at this price this is the most compelling option one can ever have.

Exterior Good but not appealing. Soft and gentle for a family car. Resemblence to Ritz and swift combined.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good, but not best. Seats, space and features satisfactory for a family car at this price band.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is totally unrelaiable! Though it is very sad to say, the experience with this vehicle is totaly bad! I had a ride on this vehicle ( new, clocked 40K km.) for around 20 km and it showed sudden powerloss without any warning on the dash. This was repeated 4 times during the 20km dirve. There is no excess smoke, no abnormal sound or any warning signal on the dashboard. Driving at around a speed of 50km/hr, the throttle suddenly feels to be non responsive and the vehicel decelerates. On applying the clutch to shift down, it regains response but, at engaging the gear, it becomes numb again. At neutral or at clutch depressed stage, the engine never shows any problem.
The gear shifting was a hillarious job, especially to shift to the 2nd gear from any gear other than 1st. It reminded me the old villes petrol jeep. The owner of the vehicle told me that he was facing this problem from 20K km, ie., from 6 months back. 5 or 6 times the vehicle was with maruti service centre and they couldn't fix it. Every time they deliver the vehicle saying that it is OK now, but the problem is repeating. He is using it as a taxi and as far as I could know, he is a very good driver and drives the vehicle in a professional way. He spend all his lifes savings to buy this vehicle, but now he is suffering a lot with this vehicle.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is up to the standard, except for some vibrations during idling. Handling is good and controls are OK.
Final Words Maruti has to put effort to recall such faulty vehicles to rectify the problem, as many Ertiga owners experienced this engine problem. Since the service people are unable to diagnose the trouble using the computer, the issue is outside the central processor. Urgent attention is required, otherwise, Maruti's trusted name will be spoiled. The vehicle is good enough for a family, if it was without this issue.
Areas of improvement Engine and gear box must be made trouble free. Front grill can be given a chrome finish or chrome lining, which will increase the look dramatically. Vibrations at idling and slow speeds can be eliminated.

Exterior: Exterior looks are purely a personal thing and I really like the Ertiga. I have added a rear spoiler and graphics to the ZDI white and it looks fab. Well, you dont need my review here, just go and check out if you are liking it. One thing worth mentioning is the colors: the color choices available are poor. Only white, red and blue are good and nothing is great.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Very Comfortable seats. You can adjust middle row to make space for the rear passengers. The rear seats are really comfortable. Much better than mobilio and better than even the Innova 7 seater's third row. Biege interiors get dirty very fast. The dash looks good but is the same as the swift dezire.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: The diesel engine is really peppy. You would not feel any lag when there are 3-4 passengers and some luggage. But when u are carrying 6-7 and luggage you will feel a bit underpowered. The gearbox is smooth and nice and you get 18-20 mileage on highways. Diesel engine is a bit noicy but the cabin is very well insulated and you will not feel it. Also noice reduces as drive b/w 50-80
Ride Quality & Handling: Ride quality is the best thing about the ertiga. It is very comfortable to travel. the large windows add to the feel
Final Words: At about 10L on road (after discounts) This is a steal. In the same price bracket you would not find any other car providing similar value. Ertiga = Value for each penny
Areas of improvement: Boot Space, Climate control A/C could add to the vehicle's comfort

I bought Ertiga Zdi (CH 01 AR 8638) in December 2012 and have faced problem of SUDDEN INTERMITTENT POWER LOSS. The company personnel acknowledge the existence of such a problem but refuse to do anything for it unless demontrated in front of them. When they themselves know that the problem in intermittent and unpredictable, why they insist for demonstration in front of them. They must instead rectify all possible 5-6 causes they say exist for such a problem or at lease give a written assurance of covering this PARTICULAR PROBLEM even in post warranty period. But they are doing none of them and seem tio be just waiting for expiry of warranty. Maruti has turned so unprofessional in its conduct that now they even refuse to give a complaint number. Perhaps all disappointed ertiga owners should noew resort to legal recourse collectively and join the case of people who are already in courts against Maruti.

I did 3-4 test drives and took it on a spin. One thing for sure, it has good dynamics/driveability. However, the power with 5 adults seems to be low. Its surely not a 7 seater. Pls dont get fooled, it is a 4 adults + 2 kids seater. Even middle row will get lot of elbowing with side passenger. However its VFM
The biggest issue for me has been with Pratham motors in Bangalore, Sarjapur road. They fooled me making offers but when i finalized the deal, they said -
1. You have to wait for 4 weeks for this color.
2. The old offer is gone and i didnt place PO, so you have to pay more etc.
3. Finally, wanted to keep retainer fee saying it was my mistake.
Thankfully, I had a audio recording of the entire conversation with sales on their offers and unconditional payback of booking money etc which helped.

Exterior Nice and good looking, easy to wash
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good boot space for 5 passengers, the last row also good for the kids and anyone want to take rest/sleep its good, always my daughter use to prefer and enjoy the last row which is more comfortable for her.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good fuel economy as i drove the VDI variant since 1year.
Ride Quality & Handling Nice and enjoying the ride, easy handling, easy parking,
Final Words Nice family car.I drove myself and find a difference in the fuel economy than the driving of hired drivers, i follow the procedure given in the most of the automobile recommendations and offcourse it gives the good result.
Areas of improvement The ground clearance could be given little more, the engine service for oil changing to be minmised from 10000kms as i noticed the color of oil is getting black even after 7000Km of run of oil changing,no proper reply from the dealer (pondicherry). Parking sensoor, rear view camera all to come with the vehicle and it looks bad in the front glass after fixing these as extra accessories.

Consumercareinfo...
I, the undersigned, have bought Maruti Eritiga ZDI on 10/05/2013 from Sree Jayarama Motors, Mahabubnagar, bearing Chasis No: MA3FLEB1S00XXXXXXXX Engine No.:D13A21XXXXX Bajaj Allianz Insurance No: OG-14-XXXX-1801-0000XXXX. Previously I drove Alto and Swift and felt that I need bigger vehicle to accommodate my entire family in my car. But it has left me with complete dissatisfaction.
In these last six months I have faced a lot of agony while driving the vehicle. I paid a huge amount by borrowing from a bank. I paid the cost of the vehicle, road tax and insurance amount. But I got agony by paying 11.54 lacs to the company, RTA and Insurance company. I was given the worst vehicle with poor servicing. Neither the company nor the Showroom management has checked with me about my satisfaction of the vehicle. As a customer I did not get what I expected for my money.
There are several manufacturing defects in the vehicle, which the Govt and company might have compromised for their own benefit. I curse the technicians, engineers one who designed the vehicle. I declare that the manufacturing of the vehicle completely outlawed the norms of a vehicle of Rs. 11 lacks. They are:
1. Metal (Gauge) of the vehicle is too poor to be maintained. It is so thin that it moves in and out to a press of a thumb. Doors are made with too thin sheets even a tennis ball can make a dent. Swift VDI and Dezire are given better body thickness. Find it for yourself.
2. Paint on the body is not standard. It’s automatically getting disturbed.
3. The chasis is not standard – if a three persons sit in the middle row, it’s bending 0.2-0. 3cms down. The distance between front and rear wheels is questionable.
4. It’s seven seated vehicle. If seven people sit in the vehicle the engine’s sound is changing and the normal ride has to be done in 3rd or 4 th gear. It shows the pick of the engine is poor and technical fault in the engine.
5. The interior is totally uncomfortable. If we adjust fronts seats back the middle is row is turning uncomfortable to sit. If we move the middle seats little back the rear seat is left with no room for legs. In a 100 kms drive, I sat in the back seat and experienced real hell of not able to move my legs, a feeling of vomiting and too much of jumps and jerks.
6. The vehicle has never given the mileage as promised even after crossing 8,000 kms. The company promised 20-21kmpl, but it gives only 18.2 kmpl. It’s mere fooling the public.
7. The tires are of worst quality. I wanted Bridgestone but the service provider gave me Goodyear tires. I found a tire with bubbles while I was taking over the vehicle. The management (a Sales Executive) immediately took it and sent it back for replacement. It took 3 months to get the replaced wheel. I complained about the quality of the tire which got punctured with a wooden piece, not a nail. You can zfind the crumbs of the wooden piece inside the rear wheel. Oh annoying, if it gets flat to a wooden piece how can I drive on the road of pebbles? The Goodyear company sent an engineer and he did everything to convince me and make me believe that they are excellent tires.
8. The servicing of Sree Jayarama has added to my dissatisfaction. I went for first servicing and after servicing I showed them the unclean spots. Again I went for second servicing I found that water servicing could not even remove the spots made by the night time insects. The wheels were not clean. The interior was not dusted. I was made to wait for 4 hours to deliver my vehicle with same careless response.
Therefore as I bring my agony to your notice kindly pay immediate attention to my grievance and take back the vehicle by paying me the entire cost of the vehicle inclusive of a compensation of 20 lacs for the mental trauma/depression for these six months because of the vehicle MARUTI ERTIGA. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dr. M.R. Sunder Paul.

Exterior looks cool.. after having seen test driven innova many times and xuv 500 and force 1... did not have the mind to go in for a taxi looking innova or badgeless zuv, Etriga my entire family and my inlaws liked it we had a test drive... (one of my family members said they should have taken a photo of the number of people traveled .. it could be a good advertisement
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Quiet comforatable for a large family.. every one could get in and out without difficulty
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine was cool and the gear box was the best.. I own a I10 earlier a IKON.. have driven maruti but this is the best gear box I guess..
Ride Quality & Handling Ride was smooth for a fully loaded vehicle in the city.. did not feel the turbo lag that I expected
Final Words Value for money.. definitely better than bulky innova and ztylo.. there will never be a taxi in Extriga.. so you can confidently buy this
Areas of improvement Seat quality can be improved (compared to innova)

Exterior Looks quite good. This is a new entry from Maruti. Very good and successful attempt. It does not look like a usual "truck" like SUVs. It looks like a mid sized car. It is visually appealing. I find it better than Ritz from Behind.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are like any other Maruti Car. Seats are not elegant. You may want to go for elegant seat covers. Dashboard is pretty normal. Nothing special. It looks comfortable. Certainly not elegant. But there is nothing repelling. Its normal.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Did not have test drive yet.
Ride Quality & Handling Did not have test drive yet.
Final Words Looks like very good car. Good features. Good Mileage. Good Price ...all that a small indian family would need.
Areas of improvement Perhaps they could have stretched the car 1 feet more to accomodate more leg room for the third row passengers, which seems to be manageable at the moment, but certainly not spacious.
OVERALL GOOD CAR. I PLAN TO BOOK AN ERTIGA THIS WEEK ITSELF.
