I recently bought a Ciaz VDi+ SHVS (Granite Grey) from Pasco Automobiles Gurgaon on 15.06.16.

The pre boarding experience from the day of booking 08.06.16 was very pleasant and healthy all thanks to the sales executive Sandeep Budhwar. The on boarding was also smooth although the documentation part from their end was a bit delayed but it was ok since I was very excited about my Grey Hound.

I received the car and off with my family with it to my place, on the way I noticed an abnormal sound (knock-knock type of sound) from the front suspension when the shockers used to work i.e. on road with rubbles or when coming down from a speed breaker and along with it there was and abnormal continuous noise of the fuel pump. I immediately called and informed the sales executive about the issue and he asked me to come the next day to get it checked. As I had already taken quite a few leaves from office for getting all formalities done for my car I informed him that I will come over the weekend which was 19.06.16.

I went to the service centre on the said date and showed both the problems to the executive although I was not at all keen on getting my new car enter the service centre for repairs but looking at the kind of repo the sales executive during the complete on boarding process I agreed. It was found that the fuel pump was faulty (even after a PDI) and had to be replaced. Then was the suspension noise issue for which they checked and changed the stabiliser rods and took a test drive but still the noise was there, then again they took for repairs and informed me that some bush had to be changed. After this repair road test was done and the noise seemed to have settled down but unfortunately my rear right side bumper got damaged by them inside the service centre for which they agreed and told me that they will get it corrected/painted and then I left for home. Next day on my way back from office the noise started again not of the same intensity but it started. I again informed the sales executive for the same. I gave my car next day to service centre for the noise and since I had to go out of station due to official work so these people had 2 days for checking and correction. But I was called and informed that they had checked and found no noise and informed that they will drop my car back at my place by evening. I told them that once I am back will personally show them the problem when I am back. After coming back had no choice but to again spoil my day at service station for the suspension noise. I got them the noise checked to them and they agreed that there was a slight noise but it was normal. I have been driving a car since 23 years now but this noise is considered normal was not to which I could agree upon. Therefore, I asked them to get me a test drive of a new car from the stock yard for which they agreed and got this done. To my surprise I noticed that this noise was there in both cars and that too on a higher side for which I took a test drive and the service advisor said that this noise is due to the mounting bush for the shock absorber. Although not convinced by this but had to agree as my car had a low noise compared to the new ones but I guess all Ciaz are having the same noise (Knock-knock). Now I have driven my car for about 3K kms and am very impressed by the performance fuel efficiency, power, aesthetics and everything specially the SHVS system. My car is currently giving me a fuel economy of 18-19kmpl in city and 23-24kmpl on highway. Loved the dual tone interiors as well and above all the cooling inside the cabin through automatic climate control and rear vents (which is not fan only but an extended vent therefore its and ac at the back as well). The plastic quality on the interiors is not so strong and definitely would become noisy in sometime. The Bluetooth connectivity is great as they have a mic installed next to the roof light which makes the listener on the other end have a good quality conversation. The car comes with a safety feature of starting only when the clutch is pressed and also the SHVS gets only activated when all doors are locked and driver side seat belt is fixed so be careful about that.
Rest I loved the car... my 'Grey Hound".

Exterior

 Projector Headlamps, Nice flow of line from the side till the rear, looks bigger and different design when compare to other Maruthi Models. Keyless entry works really good.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

EVery thing is good. Console box with closure, rear sun shade, rear AC vents, good audio system. Dont have any thing to say about negative.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Even though power is lesser in this segment, i don't feel underpower. I didn't go above 100, but touched 100 easily. Will try above this after first service. city drive is really good. Engine noise creeps into the cabin when you rev it hardly, but when you drive in between 2 to 3k, you don't get that noise and easily touchs 100KM with this range.

Ride Quality & Handling

Pot holes are easily taken and i didn't find any issue. Ride Qualitry is good

Final Words

VFM, Petrol vehicle with almost 20KM/L in Highways and around 14KM/L in city with the size of this car, its a good buy.

Areas of improvement  

 Need to improve engine noise in higer RPM when rev it.

 Looka neat and impressive, great improvement on other Maruti models, can be improved though by giving it a look like a lower bonnet to make it more streamlined. excellent headlight and rear light clusters,  

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

 Comforatble with ample leg space for 3 tall people, good rear cooling, charger units and glass holders, rear window defogger, suitable for all types of highway, and have driven it even in the hills without discomfort. The tilting steering and drivers seat adjustment are a dream for tall people. 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 Pickup when required on overtaking on highway needs improvement ( difficult to overtake on highways with traffic due to lack of immediate response from engine ), fuel economy excellent, cabin ride superb except when on short length bad roads on highways even at medium speeds. 

Ride Quality & Handling

 Suspension should be improved to tackle bumps at even medium speeds on highways and in city roads, especailly roads like Bangalore Roads.

Final Words

 Am very happy with my buy, and will surely recommend it to my friends planning to buy a car soon, but request Maruti to fine tune these small points mentioned above.

 Engine power in bursts required, suspension. nothing more. Excellent vehicle overall. 😄

Exterior Very neat design, contemporary styling gives a luxurious and upmarket look. Projector head lamps and the "in-your-face" grill and logo stand out in crowd. One look from side and people will be really amazed by its size. Daytime runing lights would have been a big ego boost. Headlamps could have been more powerful, but still is not a problem.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable seating with ample leg room in the front seats. The arm rest is very comfortable. Steering mounted controls and bluetooth work like charm. Reverse parking sensors are a boon.

Automatic climate control is neat, no noise whatsoever.

Leg room on rear seat is awesome, my kid can play on the floor :-) Two mobile charging points is a really good thinking by Maruti.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is decent, not very powerful though. I still can't believe the average I got on a recent road trip- the meter read 29.1KMPL, year, you read it right..29.1KMPL!!. Even otherwise I have seen a consistent average of around 25KMPL on highways. Average in city is around 16KMPL.

Car struggles a bit at low RPMs, but thats only till the turbo kicks in. Above 1000RPM ride is good.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is very comfortable, suspensions easily swallow most of the humps and potholes. Ground clearence too is good, never have scrapped the underchassis till now, where as many Citys and Vernas have reported problem on the same road humps. Sometimes felt that steering is slightly on the heavier side.

Drives on highways is a real pleasure. Once around 2000RPM the car literally glides. Cruise control is a definite miss.

Final Words A really good car by Maruti, definitely a run for money for Honda and Hyundai. 

Areas of improvement More powerful headlamps and day time runing lights will be a big plus. Low end torque should be improved for a comfortable city driving.

Ciaz as a manufacturing defect, with steering and its parts. If you observe the fault and take back to showroom, they will defiantly make you feel pissed off.

I purchased Maruti Ciaz ZXI on 19/08/2016. Their was some problem observed in the front axel or wheel on running of 1058KM, reported the same. Were in the vehicle was tested and taken by the service person. He said that it is a manufacturing defect with the Front Mounting Stabilizer Bar Bush, same was repaired on 12/10/2016. With in few days, same problem observed with a much more noise and also vibration in steering, reported the same on 23/10/2016, were in the vehicle was tested and informed it is normal by the service person. But the problem was repeated, to confirm the same I called one of my friend who own Ciaz and had a test drive for 100Km, then it was confirmed that my vehicle has a problem. I took back the vechical again on 25/10/2016, and asked them to test the vehicle properly. Service team. confirmed that their is some problem and received my vehicle for servicing 25/10/2016 9:00 hours, after which they reported their is a problem in steering bush/bearing at  19:00 hours (I wonder what made them to take such a long time to detect a problem). before to this they have promised me that the vehicle will be delivered by 15:00 hours on the same day, which was not done.   After which the service manager said me that the new component or part to be replaced is not available in stock, the same is ordered to Maruti and requested through mail to send the part by air, so it reaches early. Till now it has not reached and I am waiting for my vehicle. Regarding the issue I have raised a complaint Ref No.: 5338071628.    I don't know what safety Maruti is promising to their customers.

Superb exterior. Long wheelbase. really love driving this car. Comfortable drive.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good equipment list which covers almost everything. and neatly finished. Driver armrest is fixed which is not vry comfortable, I think it shud b sliding.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Though I drove ciaz till 180 km/h but the engine noise give a very bad impression after about 140 km/h. Good fuel economy if u dnt drive so hard. Gear box is hard. takes lot of time to put a new gear.

Ride Quality & Handling Lovely ride quality/suspension. Easy handling. 

Final Words True valve for money.  Least power among rival cars hence least price. if some one wants more from a car, go for higher end cars like cruze or corolla. Otherwise NO DOUBT. ciaz is best in its own segment.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) All features,awesome space,(unmatched leg space).i am 5 ft 11 inches and easyily a person of 6 ft can sit behind me in ciaz.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is good and gearbox is awesome,doesnt feel like u r driving diesal,no sound inside the car.unmatxhed fuel economy i have driven 2000 kms and it is giving average of 20kmph plus. I also have ertiga but ciaz is awesome and way way ahead in driving

Ride Quality & Handling Awesome handling and ride quality,i have been on highways and it cruises so well from 60 to 150 kmph u will not need to change gears.it can rum in 5th gear easy.

Final Words A superb value for money,best buy in segment at the moment.u could save around 3 lakhs if u buy ciaz over city. The best maruti i have driven till date.

Areas of improvement Should add cruise control and electric sunroof.

Exterior Tall, long, aerodynamic, road clearance....every corner is soothing to eye. i loved it!

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I am having a VDI+ class, some gadgets is less in compare to high end, but else is awesome in class. Air bag for both driver and passenger should be include in VDI+ range. I felt cheated.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine bore size and other dimensions are same as swift dzire diesel engine but turbocharger gives boost like anything. i love the way my car gets instant torque. I touched 180km/h in less than 60 seconds.

Ride Quality & Handling Smoother than my old accent. i thought my accent was the best. Gear shift is very smooth. Steering tilt is the best. Felt proud to drive my car.

Final Words Spacious, luxurious and economic in class. Areas of improvement: battery power, in night front light fluctuate while operating power window., I forgot to check my tool box in boot at the time of delivery, i found a space for tools but no tool in the same, probably my dealer might have stolen, but it spoiled the maruti image in my mind, its all about person to person mind set.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) is perfect for 5 person.Self driven or chauffeur driven both possible and convenient.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Little issue but it can be solved by frequent gear change, still you will get fuel economy. Gear box need some practise, it will become easy to use.

Ride Quality & Handling is superb any trafic any space very easy to handle.Thanks to the electronic steering.

Final Words One should consider this car, It is the best for our kind of trafic and road.

Areas of improvement Are, the tires should be better quality  this will improve the overall performance of car that is cabin noise and fuel economy. Leather seats are not made well. quite loose fitting need some attention.

MARUTI CIAZ ZDI+ RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR FEATURES OF LUXURY CAR IN MID RANGE SEDAN. IT HAS VALUE FOR MONEY, SPACIOUS AS WELL AS COMFORT.
