Ride quality is excellent on the highways and city is too good. The ride quality of petrol is the best among the rivals such as Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz. In fact, it brings out a sense of a bold and muscular looking car and not a great looking car as compare to Hyundai i20. Performance of this car is excellent specially in petrol CVT. 1.2 litre petrol engine is fun to drive and engine is very peppy and frugal. This is the best petrol automatic car in this segment because 5 speed CVT gearbox is very smooth to drive in the city and highways. Servicing of this car is very reasonable and with less amount and spare parts are also not very much expensive. Maruti boast of the best in post sales service and your Baleno can be maintained with no hassles. There are some pros and cons of this car. Pros: 1. Cabin space is excellent for three adults and sit comfortably. 2. Features include ABS and Dual Airbags, auto Headlamps, DRL's, EBD, door request sensor, user friendly MID( Multi Information Display) as standard across all the variants. 3. Petrol engine is very fun to drive. 4. Boot space of this car is excellent with 339 litres and second largest in this segment as compare to Honda Jazz 354 litres. Cons: 1. Build quality, cabin quality and use of plastic materials on dashboard is very poor. This is a light car and you might lack of solidity in the hatchback. 2. Suspension is stiffer because its light weight and ride quality on bumpy roads, large potholes makes very uncomfortable to drive. 3. Maruti Baleno scores only 2.5 stars in NCAP crash test and this is not safest car according to build quality, light weight and not feels solidity as compare i20. 4. The interiors of this car not very premium as compare and the interior quality of Hyundai i20 is excellent and top notch and feels very premium in this segment. 5. Rear seat thigh support is not that great for long journeys and this could be a bit of challenge. Rear Row Seat is much shorter and tall people could find it a bit short of height. 6. 5 speed CVT gearbox feels jerkiness on the highways.
