Brand New Baleno Delta AT, not even a month old, had a major engine box failure, where the car just gave jerks during the drive and came to a halt in middle of the road. upon inspection we found a hole in the engine Oil sump, hole was of new 5 Rs Coin size, and oil was dropping out of it. The Maruti Suzuki service engineers were saying I must have hit the car into some pot hole or something like that and due to which the hole has been made. I was driving on a very good road with no potholes for miles. When the car was taken to Fortpoint and upon lifting the car on the lift and we saw underneath that there were indeed 3-4 such big holes in the Engine block, and all these holes were made from part coming out from within the engine block. Even the fortpoint service advisor and manager commented saying that this is due to something coming out from inside of the engine block and not due to anything hitting from outside. Upon further investigation they sent me email with some pictures (I am not even sure that these images are of my car engine) saying that the water had entered into engine via silencer and due to which it cause a hydrostatic lock. And due to which this happened , and this is not covered under manufacturing defect or warranty. I had no other option but to pay more than 67000 to get the repairs done . We never drove the car in water logged areas, nor did anything which could make this water enter into engine via silencer, Also most surprising and alarming thing is for 900 odd kms the car was with us since we brought it from the showroom, and never once the car gave us any indication of anything wrong, no noise, misfire, starting problem, knocking of engine, lack of power or acceleration, nothing of sort and suddenly its engine goes into this hydrostatic lock and explodes. How Safe is this behaviour for any car which explodes in middle of road and when I wrote to the maruti team, they tried to give me some technical reasons for this happening. My question is How can a vehicle give no sign of problem and just engine starts to disintegrate during a drive in motion??? luckily I was at a speed lower than 30kmph, I wonder what would be the case of me if I was on highway driving over 80kmph. I am sure I wouldnt be alive to write this review. I share this with you all cause I want everyone to be aware of this car's build quality and how maruti Suzuki' is shying away from owning upto its problems.

Exterior Very flimsy parts, recently met with an accident. car hit dog on highway, car speed was around 60km/hr. got heavy damages to car. Bumper , radiator , condensor and fog lamp changed. radiator amount bracket was broken.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are good but all trim parts are flimsy and shaky. there is no enough foam on the seat. rear seat is rattling. Doors are making noise. Armrest is not designed ergonomically. I cannot reach armrest, my height is around 5' 5''.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very bad fuel economy, i am getting 12kms/lt against 18km/lt what Maruti claims. Maruti is claiming 21km/lt average on highways but i never got that mileage.
Ride Quality & Handling Good, ground clerance is good. rear suspensions are very hard. you can feel vibrations coming to occupant.
Final Words I will not recommend because of bad fuel economy and safety concerns. I have bought Baleno (Maruti car) because of good mileage but this car is not giving mileage. earlier I was using Wagon R that was good in terms of mileage.

Pl do not buy this car. My car is less than Two years old and now feel like a Ten year old car. Noisy brakes, suspension, and extremely poor milage. Only 10 km/litre. I made a big mistake by going for this car. Should have gone for either i20 or Honda Jazz. Service really sucks and also wonder if this is the service we are getting from Nexa, I pity the Maruti owners who are having the standard products. There is a big sound due to the rubberband effect of the automatic version and really very irrittating one. The built quality is also very poor. I am also comparing with Other Cars like i10 which comes from a lower segment and the quality is much better compared to Baleno. Hence please do not go for Balano and that is based on my experience. I am trying to dispose it off and trying to get an i20 or Honda Jazz.
So think 100 times before you buy this inferior product.

Exterior Rear of the car is its best feature - an eyeball turner. Nothing else stands out as much. Alloy wheels culd have been much better designed & front looks very similar to the Swift & Dzire which takes away the overall wow!! factor
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious - front & back seat - 5 people comfortable even in long journeys. Good leg room & height. Features are almost fully loaded - should have installed lights in boot space & glove box. Dyal tone to an extent with lack & silver but the material is too flimsy and not at all sturdy. Seats are comfortable, Music system is amazing !!
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fuel economy is alright - something you expect. It is the trade off against top quality performance. Sluggish engine, very poor torque & absolutely laborious on the hill. AT gearbox is smooth. Steering is responsive and makes it easy to drive.
Ride Quality & Handling Keeps out most of the noise so you can drive in peace pretty much anywhere. Handling is fine ut takes a beating when on full throttle. Sturdy at high speed and not at all wobbly thanks to eat tyre work. Could have had better displacement.
Final Words All in all a tad better than what I had hoped for. A few basic things amiss but covers up with pretty much everything else.
