Has got amazing pickup and very good power for a diesel car in this bracket. Outbeats Indigo, Swift and to some extent even Feista (which are the other options in diesel below 10L).

Don't go by the shape. My wife and I rejected this car twice before actually buying it purely because of the shape, however, barring the "not so great" looks, its indeed absolute Value for Money! Looks can be enhanced by a good set of alloy wheels. I have a black one with black machine alloys (7699). Definatley doesnt look repulsive anymore...!!

I own a mahindra logan car which I purchased on 31st July 2008. It is a good performance car. It is spacious & technically has lots of feature in it. But the service provided by Mahindra is awful. I purchased the car from Mahindra Dealer in Gurgaon "Sterling Motors" and found them highly unprofessional. Their staff themselves is not in sync & updated with the communication done with the customer. I was told that I am going to get the cash discount "Rs.7000/-" but till date i.e. 8th Mar 2009 I never heard back from them. I called up many times spoke to the senior executives/manager but no response except false commitments.

I got my first service of car done by "Sri Durga Automobile" at Rama Road, Delhi. I again had a very bad experience with them. They take their customer very casually & don't even bother to inform about the status of the car to the customer. They even don't do the service properly. They broke the connection of Water tank with wiper of my car. That was the service provided to me.

At the end I can say that even if product is undoubtedly good but if the service is bad then product will not have a grip in the market. This is one of the reason it is not seen much on roads.

Mahindra should have a good control on their dealers. The rating I have given above is only for the car. If I compare Mahindra dealers with Maruti I would give them 0 rating from 0 – 5 as I also own a maruti car.

I have purchased Logan GLX1.4 a year back. I like my car very much because it’s my first CAR with my earned money :). I was very confused before buying Logan. At that time Maruti Swift has long waiting queue. I like the test drive of Figo- diesel version also. As I had made my mind to buy figo but I wanted to buy a Sedan. My budget was limited to 5.5 lac. Then I visited Mahindra showroom in Delh, Sri Dura Automobiles. I like the car in first look. I got a very good deal since I purchased in December. It’s complete value for money car. You can not expect everything under 5.3 lac in Sedan class. I have covered 10,000 KM today so thought about writing the review of my CAR. You will enjoy it when I drive this on Highway. It has great road grip that gives you better control even at 140 KM/Hr speed:). Four people can easily fit in the back seat of the car and to say about spacious trunk :)

I am planning to fit CNG kit as it quit successful in the petrol version of Logan. I think I have only one issue that its interior could be better.

From past 1 month I'm calling the Logan's guys for a test drive in Mumbai, but getting silly excuses. I felt that Mahindra's should train Logan dealer's to be more initiative in sales n service.  They should learn from Ford, Hyundai, Suzuki etc. how to market cars.

Mahindra's lacks the expertize of selling family cars, the company itself is creating an image that they are not extremely keen in selling the Logan, this same attitude is being reflected from the Logan dealers in Mumbai.

Long time ago, Mahindra's launched Ford Escort, their pathetic approach lead to the disappearance of the then Mahindra Ford Escort. This time I guess it will be Renault Logan.

Though Logan is a good car in performance, it lacks good looks and sufficient service centers. The Quality of showrooms/service centers and the services rendered are not so good in comparison to Maruti. Imagine no Ac in their Service center and showroom at G3 motors Malad and the service centre office is in a basement. They even refused to me show their workshop. The advantage is that the car is very spacious and sturdy. If Mahindra can do something about their no. of showrooms and service centers and their quality it would definitely enhance their Sales. Can you imagine that the Dealer (Sahil Motors- Andheri West -also known as GMS) from whom I bought my Car in Mumbai closed own in 6 months time without any info. and closed all its contact means. They carried out a shoddy job of anti rust treatment and after their closure Mahindra and other dealers expressed their helplessness in the matter. Can you imagine that this dealer took the Cheque for the extended warranty and never remitted the amount to Mahindra and no certificate for the same was issued to me for months and I had to literally take up the matter vigorously with Mahindra after I realised that I have been cheated. Just to let you know that G3 Motors replaced my Spark Plugs after 10000kms in 1 year where as the Service Book says that they should be replaced after 20000 kms and the Board displayed in G3 motors says that it should be done after 40000 kms. They never gave me my old spark plugs. It just means that the Spark plugs were never replaced but I was merely billed for them by G3, Malad east, Mumbai. No Proper Bill was issued for the repairs work carried out by them. Every time for free service also they charge 100/- to 200/- towards consumables, which in my opinion is not correct. A Good car is being handled poorly and it seems it will ultimately meet the fate of Fiat Cars. Today even if FIAT is bringing good Cars, people are scared to buy them due to their past bad reputation. If the present state continues I think Mahindra vehicles will also be in the same position.

Space, SturdinessLooks, Poor Showrooms & Service centers, no boot release sysytem

I have a white 1.4GLE Logan. My driving has not been much - just under 1000 kms and gotten my first srvice done. The flip sides I would put first - service mens are good but below delight level. With A/C on, there is a light cranky sound in the car. Tachometer is not user frinedly.

Now thw better side - The best thing in this car is it's Space - especially the back seat -it's just Superb! Your people will never complain, feel crammed in a Logan back seat. The front seat is too too - as driver - all the sides views are also good. U get a lot of space near and side of dash board. The ride is quite smooth - I drive from Malad to Essel World and back - the up down roads on Kashimira feels smooth - once there is pick up, the drive is also fine.

Fuel economy wise, in Mumbai city it's just about 8 kms with A/C on. On highway, with reasonably traffic and tool naka stops,  I got 15 kms with A/C on. Engine boot space is good, and so is rear boot. Now my wife nerev compains on her week end shopping trips, about lack of space to keep bags -:).

The A/C etc buttons are located slightly lower, so shile driving u may have to bend to reach them, if needed.

Way ahead of Indigo, Accent, Exteem and Swift. a careful look at the few ridges and curves on the wheel side gives a character to this car as well.

I selected this car after checking out dzire,fiesta and indigo. Indigo was the cheapest of the lot...and got striked off from the list first! Dzire had a long waiting period..cramped rear seats and odd styling,thin tyres(would have to spend more for wider tyres) Fiesta was refined,had better interiors..pricey and again cramped rear seats for the price. Now for logan...well within my budget,ride was excellent,fuel efficient,excellent space. Second thoughts came only ecause of the service..these guys really suck.. After the first service my car had grease over the handles! it is like they r least bothered about the after sales service.Excellent economy,poor looks,excellent ride and of course lots and lots of space!Poor ergonomics,rattling,poor quality of plastics

Exterior Average, headlights need to be better for night driving.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Spacious, good legroom even at the back seat, should have more features.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very weak in the low range, has got a decent performance on highways but overtaking needs a lot of planning, in city traffic frequest gear changes are required to put the car in power band, brakes are  a major casue of concern. The cars tyres have a tendency to screech everytime when braked a little harshly.

Ride Quality & Handling Extremely poor in handling potholed roads, feels nervous on high speeds. Quality of tyres is very poor.

Final Words The car is very poor in terms of reliability, my car has clocked just 25000 kms in which its bearings of the front excels have given up, and the car got stranded on the highway. Very poor reliability, it is minaly due too a poor serivce back from mahindra. A good product is let down by poor service.

Areas of improvement Service needs to be improved a lot.

> Another suggestion is to cover the bumpers with plastic where they are vulnerable for touch and scratch by other vehicles, A small plastic cladding which would also enhance the looks of the vehicle

> Good runner on the road and can be used in rugged condition, From my experience of the road
