My car is giving 15-18kmpl in mix of highway(65%) & city driving(35%).Easy to drive in crowded areas without touching any other vehicle.Smooth gearchange.Good suspension.Good all round visibility.yearly garage cost around 6000.00.power is low.pickup is low.AC is powerful.Driving in night & rainy conditions is good.Good braking. Now other brands:

Tata indigo :good for 2 years only.then sell it off.

Ford ikon :expensive to maintain even for small scrtaches, dents, repairs.good car otherwise in diesel version.

Maruti dezire :best resale value.Good car but low mileage in petrol.all round visibility is an issue.Maintain cost is at par with logan.

      fuel economy,low maintenance,easy to drivedealer,pickup

Logan Is good car for value of money, style and comfort but on the service part it is very poor as per my personal experience, reply was not given proper, without cleaning in side and solveing problems they give delevery and after submitting complain, they are not giving proper reply and care to solve the problems. They reply for solving complain reply you have to pay pick-up charges. I feel service centre department is only after making money.yesyes

One of the best diesel cars available in india in 6 lac price range. ppl might say buy indica vista, indigo cs, ford figo, swift dzire or even i20. but lemme tell from my own personal experience. This is the best vehicle to chose from. Buy recent bs4 version. my daily driving when im on tour is around 200-300 kms, and i must say. The comfort and fuel efficiency i get from this vehicle is unmatched. earlier i drove a 2005 tata indigo tdi engine. and when this year i wished to buy another diesel vehicle, initial choice was swift diesel, but when i actually went to mahindra showroom on a friend’s reccomendation who is a logan owner since past 2 years. I couldn’t stop myself from buying it. imagine getting a big space vehicle for rs. 6 lacs that has the best performance in its class. guys u all will forget swift and others once you own a logan. absolutely no maintenance car.

Some minor issues which i noticed that are well. Ok but will take time to enter our indian mindset are:-
      1. only one reverse light. The other one has been converted into a rear fog lamp.
      2. wiper and headlight functions are on the opposite sides as compared to our conventional indian setup. this is because logan is from european side where they ahve a left hand drive.
      3. the movement of wipers is also opposite as compared to other vehicles and that is a bit strange. does irritate you when ur driving in rain sometimes, but nothing to worry about.
      4. placement of front power windows near the ac control and not on the door.
      5. opening of front bonet is from the passenger side.

These are some petty issues. Which we hope mahindra will take up when they will relaunch logan’s new version next year.

All in all guys, just go for it no nonsense car. its for people who want real value for their money. and yes one more thing you’ll hear a lot of people saying that logan does not have resale even second hand car dealers saying ki logan market mein hai nahi.

Guys i wanna tell u, the person who buys logan, dont wanna sell it, so thats the main reason for the negetive image created regarding its resale. its really a car to keep. njoy every bit of it.

An honest car in that it delivers what it promises. It is not a great car for speed and thrill but a good and confortable drive on city and highways both.

Am a new user and have just used it for 300km but am pretty satisfied till date. It is giving me 12kmph in mixed usage in city+highway and with AC always on. Dealer said that the mileage will improve further after first service on 2000km.

Pickup is decent. Not found wanting for power on the highway too. City drive is satisfactory.

Some controls could have been better placed, rear boot remote opening will be retrofitted as per the dealer so that complaint will hopefully go away. Should have more crome on the boot for it to look better. Seating is high and impressive.

Maybe will write again after completing 3000km or so.

An honest car, good fuel economy, good space all around, good comfort. The tripmeter is great !Layout of controls not the best, styiling could be better.

This is my second review after driving the Logan DLE for 2 months (2000 KMs). The car handles well in a typical crowded Indian road. Driving pleasure and comfort are quite good - though, if you want to zip through the streets with very fast acceleration you should then go for higher end diesels like the Verna.

I got a mileage of about 25 Kmpl with the DLE - city and highway combined with minimal AC. (AC is adequate - no complaints).

The AC controls are placed a bit awkwardly, I am yet to get used to handling the AC and fan buttons without looking at them. Wish the side mirrors could fold inside a bit more and the boot had a release lever. Not sure if Mahindra can provide some more refinements with the interiors - but the interiors can be better.

The Logan DLE will be good to you if you drive it gently - if you drive it over 120 kmph the engine will make its presence felt - but as I hardly drive above 80kmph, I am not complaining.

The bumper (plastics) according to me are very soft and can get damaged easily if even a Maruti Omni gets too close - as happened with me - but I am thankful that it did not drop off like it does with Indicas or Indigos.

Overall, I felt that the Logan DLE is reliable, comfortable, spacious and gives great mileage.

      Hello everyone......

I am from Chandigarh and Bought the Logan DLS model yesterday so its very early to write the review for me but still i am writing what i felt about this car.I was Thinking to buy new car for few months now but not able to decide what diesel car should i buy in 5-7 lakh range. My first choice was Ford Fiesta but droped it coz of its high price and very costly spare parts.new  indigo LX  model was next coz of its price and space but i didnt liked its looks and few friends told me that its engine is not good so i looked at Maruti Swift VDI model and test drove it and liked it coz its really a good diesel engine but it dont have much space and paying 5.5 lakh for hatchback seems little too much but i was still ready to buy it but dealer told me that i have to wait 90 days coz maruti have some production problems and coz of  high demand.

But than one of my friends bought the Logan DLS model and told me to go for it coz its a VFM car but First i was not Looking at it coz i didnt liked the looks much  but when i test drove it  i was ready to buy it coz it has really good  engine like swift even though on paper swift s 75BHP is way better than 65 horses of Logan but  when u drive it it dont feels its any less than swift. No need to change too many gears in city drive and on highway its a smooth car to drive and main thing is it has lot of space even more than few very expensive cars.

Fuel consumption of this car is very good.Giving me 16kmpl in city driving with AC always on.didnt checked it on highway yet and its very easy to check everything with the car's onborad computer which checks everything from average speed to fuel consumption and also how far u can go with remaining fuel.

and ground clearance of this car is 172 mm not 152 as some are saying here in reviews.I will write again after a month or so in details about everything..................

It has been more than a year, since I purchased my Logan GLX 1.4 and I still feel like driving it new. Technically I found the car to be smooth driving and I have my head in the air when people get in a say the car is spacious. I have been using it in the city of Bangalore with traffic jams and haphazard traffic, and I get easy maneuverability and control behind the wheel. Even long distance drives are comfortable. This is a good car for its price. I was not keen for any showy interiors and for me and my family the interiors seem good enough. I personally liked the looks from outside. Overall recommended for people on a medium budget and looking for a comfortable car.Comfortable, Smooth, pick-up, spacious inside and boot, priceLess showy interiors

I bought Logan 1.4 two years back. Till now I run 40000 km. Performance of this car is amazing because it giving excellent milage and comfortable ride. Not had even a single breakdown or problem till date. High ground clearance and good shockers makes ride comfortable on bad indian roads. Specially AC performance is super, even in hot Delhi summers, sometimes you need to switch it off. I would like to specially rate it better than my another car Honda City.12-13 km/ltr in Delhi Jams, very specious seats, Good shockers, High pickup, Super cool ACInteriors need imporvement (You can improve it)

Hai friends, this is RAMANA from Vizag. This is my 2nd review in this site regarding  logan DLS. Yesterday i.e on 17-02-2008, the Mahindra showroom people(AMPL) conducted DRIVATHON for logan car owners. I enjoyed a lot that mileage competetion and i hitted a mileage of  30.88km per litre. Total distance covered-38.6km(around 32km in vizag town and remaining beach road) and fuel consumed by me is 1.25ltrs.But two others got morethan me with 31.2 and 33kmpl.Only 3 among us crossed 30kmpl. Remaining people got 24-26kmpl. but 2 guys got around 22kmpl only. Really unbeleavable mileage we got. If you dont beleave, our recordsheets are with the showroom people. This event conducted openly, our fueltanks were sealed at showroom after topup the tanks, tripmeter was set to zero, and speedometer reading was also taken, 4 checkpoints in between, at end point they filled the empty and calculated the mileage. This event was started by Vizag DTC. Really unmatched mileage. Thanks to Mahindra people.Truly built for economy.

excellent mileage, nice comfort of- seating& driving,bad- back shape,

I bought Mahindra Logan 1.4 GLX (Petrol) in March '08. Till Jan '09 the car has run 14000 kilometers and have travelled extensively, some times at a stretch for 10 hours. Mahindra Logan my 3rd car. The first two cars were Indica Diesel. Though my average speed is about 80 KMPH on highways, I have also driven this car at an average speed of 110 KMPH from Kolhapur to Khandala to test it's speed and perseverance. On an average, I drive from Thane to worli, where my office is, almost 2 times a week.

My Positive experience is as under: i. Competitively Priced for such a spacious interior and Boot space; ii. Accessories offered at this price are amazing(power steering, 4 power windows, central locking) offered in GLX 1.4; ii. Highly spacious inside, expecially breadth of the seat (3 fat persons are comfortably accomodated on the rear seat), including the leg space & boot space, iii. Vey low maintenance, iv. Fuel efficiency of around 13 kmpl in city with A.C. on; v. clear view of the road through driver's seat; vi. Proactive pre/post-service follow up from the Service station; vii. Car does not skid on sharp turn inspite of speed; viii. very powerful A/c.

The areas of improvements are as under: i. Ground clearance need to be improved. When a fully occupied car passes over a speed braker, the bottom touches the speed braker; ii. The breadth of the sheet metal is thin as compared to Tata Vehicle (previously I owned an Indica) as a result, there are easy dents the sheet metal.iii. The appearance of the boot needs to be improved. It gives an impression of vehicle being rammed from the rear side. iv. After continuously driving for about 3 & 1/2 hours at an average speed of 110 kmph, we heard some rattling sound of screws from the dashboard.

The over all experience of the vehicle is Excellent. A true value for Money. A big car with reasonably good accessories, available at a price of small premium cars.

Highly spacious interior and boot; value for money, fuel efficient, no skidding, zero maintenanceBody metal sheet is too thin compared to Tatas, ground clearance to be improved for 5 people car
