Exterior
i own a silver mist xylo bought in jun'14 after trading in my Ford Classic '12 model. stance is excellent. dual hella water spray proof horns are standard, abs is standard but no alloy on this trim. running board is standard. auto door lock on movement is an excellent feature. car is not to long turn radius is shortest in its category. big windows give great driving confidence in the hills. chrome trim in grill inset is a good feature
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
seating position is better than the innova ,driving experince is the same in both with equitable body roll owing to their sheer physical size and the muv category.the gadget list is low H4 gets no deck no chrome trims.... it looks like a water spray washable interior. im not a big fan of interiors hasnt bothered me....air con slots in each row is stabdard. two charging points are standard. last row has an openable window which i feel is functional but would be used rarely. seats arrangement is flexible and easy to mount and unmount
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
the mhawk replaces the E series in the new H series. pick up on low rpm is great condiering the legendary simens turbocharger that i was used to in the ford. the clever airintake in the engine bay designed in the xylo impresses me. gear throw is long since the stick shift sits at a great distance from the driver.
Ride Quality & Handling
ride quality is typical muv, firm on flat runs and heavy on sharp curves. but thats essential to a MUV i would say. handling of the xylo is far better than even a sedan thanks to the short turning radius. the sheer size intimidates unruly motorists. parking, start and stop, reverse parking without electronic assistance is a skill no doubt but thanks to the large orvms things are easy.
Final Words
its not a porche not an audi not an overprices honda.... its a simple cost effective indian brand muv, with a good technologically designed engine so i look at it as such and wouldnt crib and cry about this and that missing.... its meant for a practical minded customer looking for people movement with the least electonical interference and nuisance..... in case glass glamour and haute cultur is your thing..... then stick to a japanese or europran sedan
Areas of improvement
mahindra should provide basic things such as floor mats mud flaps and sest covers and standard options. improve the ground staff knowledge on their cars. else its all worth what money can buy at the price point
