Exterior The new 2014 refresh model is excellent. I just bought a Dolphin grey one. The new chrome grill, new bull bar and the entire decals looks awesome.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Awesome! I dont think anyone has any complaints here. The new dual done works perfect. Some of the finish on door could be better. One thing, I didnt like was the rear defogger connected on the back window with wires coming out. Comfortable 7-8 seater or rather only 7/8 seater.
The body roll is very minimal, on par almost with Ertiga VXI or Innova. Though in deep curves, you need to be careful in any tallbody MUV/SUV
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox MHawk is excellent. In straight line, dont think anyone could beat. The gear shift has been optimized but i have been using only past 2 days and find gear shift slightly tighter and not very notchy. Also, the vibration is not completely out on this gear shift though its way better and ratio goes well with new clutch setup.
Ride Quality & Handling Superb!. My twin kids loved it and they felt almost they were in minibus. My father was almost asleep in captain seats and enjoyed the superb blower/ac. Driver gets the best road view with huge glass greenhouse too. The new 60/40 3rd row is a great add. I also got a pulldown roof mount DVD and works like a gem.
Final Words True VFM. I did spend 2-3 months doing all kinds of analysis and firmly believe this is a really great comfy mover.
I first waited for mobilio and was disappointed in 3rd row thigh support/comfort on long drive. Then booked ertiga but on a 2nd long test drive, found too congested at back though you had car feel. Innova was out of budget while Enjoy was too lousy performer.
Areas of improvement
1. Improve even the minimal body roll left out or provide a guage or instrument to show the amount of body roll to help driver control in deep turns.
2. Communicate the new features and market safety features better. Mahindra has better safety features like crumple zone, high seating, reinforced beams, ABS/EBD and stabilization control guages. The added comfort drive/suspension is a big value add which would need more detailing. If possilbe get even NCAP test for all Airbag variants.
3. Improve the gear box further. I still doesnt get a car like feel when I drive this. It may be +ve but still I feel we need this to get more car folks on this.
4. In city it is giving me 12.5 Kmpl, could be better. A 14-15kmpl would be ideal.

My Xylo is four years old. I have crossed 80,000 km on this vehicle. I have not done any major work on it except, recently, when I had to replace the clutch master cylinder. Apart from that no other work has been done on this car but for its routine periodic servicing. The engine today runs ever so smoothly and it sounds so healthy. I chose the Mysore- Bandipur route to go to Ooty. This beauty took those 36 hairpin bends with such ease and comfort, it amazed me. As a driver of the vehicle, after that climb, I was not tired at all. In fact, I enjoyed manoeuvring the car along the curves as it took them effortlessly. So many times in these four years, my wife and I have felt so happy that we made the right choice of car to drive around in, in our retired life. Thank you Mahindra for giving us a great vehicle!

Exterior ;exterior look is very good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) interior plastic low quality,space is lot.
Engine Performance Good, Fuel Economy:no mileage and Gearbox: ok.
Ride Quality & Handling Be careful in this we we go in highways, it will reach 130kph, we cant indetify that we r going 120,130kph, when we see the meter only we will know that. That means no suspensions,one more thing as I said that speed when we reach only ABS break wil be work otherwise it will skit/ turn the car.
Final Words Value for money, budget vechle, family car, But overall is ok I had bad experience in dealer especially where I took the car, that means when I went the showroom they try to push me on mahindra finance, I told them I will arrange myself by bank, after that no body care, and then two times I went showroom I dont get test drive, then I thought I want go someother showroom, i proceed also they treat nicely but that showroom is to long for me, so i dont have choice, then i went same showroom third time for booking even they are not gving test drive , they told me demo car went outside,but anyway i booked, then told me delivery date is seven to fourteen days dut i got after three weeks, very very very bad experience.
Areas of improvement Outside door gap is to long compare to innova, ertiga, ineterior Plastics of quality is very poor, and we cant put double panel (touch screen tft) stereo set, only we can put single panel stereo set.

Advantage: Height,road view,short bonnet.
Disadvantage :Accesible to rats/pests getting under the hood of the vehicle,thin body shield.

Overall performance is good for the price that i spent for this big boy,but currently this vehicle is discontinued.

To Be Done: need to protect from rats getting into the vehicle under the hood.

Exterior Great,even Aria and Safari canot beat Body Kit Brown Xylo E8 ABS Airbags BS-IV.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Absurd interiors,even in Body Kit the interiors are the dull brown colour. But the long list of features,like ABS,AirBags,Bluetooth,USB-AUX port and Mobile Charger,will cause little cause to complain. Even space is good,the boot is big and all rows are more spacious than Scorpio,Aria,Innova and Safari. THe front row is comfy,middle also confy with Flight-like Foldable Trays for food or Drinks and the Third row is superb too.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The M-Eagle engine is good,120 PS is great. the fuel economy is decent,16 KPL.Gear is hard but Slick and Leather Wrapped Gear Knob not too rubbery.
Ride Quality & Handling Rde is great but handling is not GOOD.
Final Words Go for it. Big cars cannot beat the Xylo Body Kit with Leather Seats,Steering and Gear Knob and Good Looks and Best-IN Class Power and Resale Value. But Interiors absurd.

Exterior Good looking and elegant
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The middle seat passengers feels a lot of discomfort due to jerks. it is spacious and comfortable.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent for its class.

Final Words This is very good vehicle for long distance travel for a medium family.It is priced reasonably compared to the vehicles of its own class. It has good road grip and good control even at high speeds.
Areas of improvement The fuel indicator has a very poor response. it takes almost 24 hrs after filling the correct fuel reading. The service person keep telling me it is because of float valve. I have driven erlier vehicles with float valve. This is a bit too tardy.
The ride in the central passenger seats are not comfortable as the passengers feel too much jerks.
The reverse switch indications are many times faulty leading to confusion while reversing.

Exterior Its not that bad infact watch it carefully the front gives a look of tall but angry bull. The Rear is very good without getting any gaurds or spoilers within the comptetion.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space is max in this vehicle more than any vehicle and any brand of this segment and including overseas brand and indian brands. Comfort is real thing which make xylo the excellent in this area and exciting too for looong journeys. Features are ample again more than any other competitor and above all the three things we are talking about Feature, Space, and Comfort are very very logical also no wastage of space not space occupying interiors and features are logical in every sense.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine when rotates above 2k rpm its the bull which i was talking about. Its powerful like scorpio but the turbo lag is the only difference which most of people get confused with.
Fuel economy never dropped below 11 kmpl even at high AC turned on or while heights of khardungla, leh, pangong, rohtang,manali, srinagar, drass, kargil, zozilla, badrinath, auli, kedarnath, nanital, mussorie, gopeswar. Across Jammu Kashmir, Himachal, Uttranchal Pradesh.
Gear box is notchy but when cold at mornings in summers also but but gets gud after 15 mins.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride is great but the only thing which made me suffer at times is the clutch. the clutch pedal gets too hard and noisy i have complained for the same to mahindra from the first service but literally they don't have solution for this they have changed my master cylinder for the same but still the problem continues and i got one solution which is temprary for max 10 days the TVS Brake Cleaning Spray which i apply near the Cltuch pedal mechanisim and the boot of cltuch mechanism underneath.
The bushes of suspension starts creeking after a long journey of 1.5 k kms which after washing and oil gets correct not a major issue as the sound can only be heard with the window opened of driver and only on the bumpy roads. Quality of plastic and fabric can be improved by a good margin. Handing this vehicle is best on highway, great on tracks like manali to leh and very good in city. The feeling of control and command is there.
Final Words Great vehicle but areas like clutch and creeking sounds in suspension bushes should be eliminated.
Areas of improvement Clutch, is the only area where I am getting pain in this big tall angry bull.
