    DRIVING:
    Few thousand kilometers
The Plush XUV 500 has been our family member since 10 months and has been driven 16000kms. Almost 14000 KMS on the Odo is on the Highway and rest in the city. So I consider I have knowledge and experience of writing a review of this BEAST. Buying Experience- XUV 500 was released on 18th April 2018 and we took the deliver of the White shade of this Cheetah on 18th May 2018 from Mahindra, Bannerghatta Road. Experience on this day is just a feeling beyond words,as the XUV was one of my favorite car to own one day. Looks- The New version of the XUV 500 looks very Wild and Bold from the Front and thanks to the straight Drl's which complement the Wild and powerful look of the Cheetah. As people have mixed opinions on the rear split tail lamps but I do assure you will like it if you look at it from the Rear Three Quarter View. Riding experience - To be honest with you the Xuv 500 is built for the Highway, it can do triple digits speeds without breaking a sweat. It's 2.2 litre engine with EVGT(Electronic Variable Geometry Turbocharger) Helps this over 2 tonne beast to do 0-100 in less than 7 seconds. Cruising on the Highway with speeds upto 200 kmph is effortless but has a considerable amount of wind noise. Breaking on the XUV is also preety good as it is equipped with disc brakes on all 4 wheels, the only thing is that you have quite a bit of nose dive under hard breaking. So this being for the Highway, now let's come back to our traffic filled cities. The main thing the Cheetah hates are potholes and speed brakes. When you go over a speed breaker in speeds as low as 15-25kmph it tosses the rear seat passengers. So to avoid this go very slow over the speed breaker by just feathering the throttle. So end line-EPIC ON HIGHWAY, NOT SO GREAT IN CITY. Servicing- Close to 3 free services are Done and the next service awaits at 20000kms. I would say the service at Mahindra is good till know keeping in mind that I haven't faced any major problems with the Cheetah. Pros- 1. 2.2l, 155hp engine is powerful and refined. 2. Stable at high speeds. 3. Feature loaded compared to other suv's at this price. 4. 2nd row is best in class for 3 adults. 5. Gloss Black Centre console is luxurious. Cons- 1. Bouncy ride quality over speed breakers and bad roads. 2. Fit and finish of the cabin could have been slightly better. 3. Luggage space is very less when all rows are up. 4. Clutch is very heavy and has a lot of travel which makes driving in city even more difficult. AT THE END OF THE DAY IT IS A CHEETAH AND IS BEST FOR MUNCHING MILES. So if you are in the market looking for a family SUV from 16-24 lakh range for a lot of highway use and little bit of city drives then THE XUV 500 is the best option for you. Hope this review was helpful and not bored you much. Thanks for reading.
