I bought this car in 2012. Soon after I bought it i had a problem with break noise which was not resolved before 6 months as the company had no resolution to it. Then i kept facing issues but luckily it was covered under extended warranty. And when the warranty got over my wiper motor broke down replacement cost 14000 plus taxes then some clutch pressure pipe, instrument cluster for which I paid arohnd 52000 now guess what in jus 15 days after coming back frm the workshop m facaing ac problems also the screen has started disfunctioning. I wouls suggest people not to buy any car manufactured by mahindra. They use all chinese stuff with no durability.

The dealer at Amravati sold a damaged car to my brother in law. A hole in roof and it is rusting. There is problem in gear box. Doors are not properly fitted. No wheel alignment. When noticed within 7 days. the executive from Mahindra Pune office offered a extended warranty only.Ha haa haha what is the use of extended warranty?

Mahindra xuv500 a budget car in which all features are excellent like auto ac,sunroof, electrically adjustable driver seat etc it’s driving is like amazing with 2.2 diesel engine its performance and looks are great and fantastic and maintaining cost is also low as it is a mahindra car its one disadvantage is that less space at last row

The shockers are average. Boot door switch gets rusted because of leakage of water. The side step is not comfortable. Lower portion engine space is not safe from rats. They get into the AC vent very easily. The front bonett is curvy which makes it difficult on Indian roads to access front in high density traffic.

Buying experience: Smooth and swift. Gone are the days when you face glitches
Riding experience: Amazing. You can feel the power under the hood by pressing the accelerator slightly hard.
Details about looks, performance etc: Looks are jaw dropping. Chrome studded front grill along with cheetah inspired muscular body gives it a very powerful road presencewhich cannot be ignored while driving. The DRL's look stunning
Servicing and maintenance: Servicing is on time. Do expect slight delay sometime if their is rush inservice centres. Maintainance is almost at the cost of a hatback till date.
Pros and Cons: Pros: Superb Response from Engine Great pickup and top speed(220km) Huge cabin space Lounge lighting adds to the luxury quotient Feature loaded(It's actually PLUSH) Cons: Last seat is for kids or people with less height. Pathetic music system(since i am used to v12 sound barrier amp along with a proper music system) Mileage could have been better City avg is 13kmpl Highway: if driving below 100- 16-17kmpl If driving between 100-150: 13-14Kmpl If driving between 150-220: 11-12kmpl Engine noise can be felt at high rpm's but tahts ok for me as that's the sound of an SUV!! Previous was driving scorpio 4x4. Must say, Mahindra has upped their game a lot!

I'm a big fan of 'big SUVs'. In the 2015 market, we had the options of Fortuner and Endeavour as the go-to SUVs. But then these would have be too expensive for me. So I decided to go for the XUV. We got the car in the Volcano Black colour on a Friday evening and the rituals of owning a new car were done. At the time this was the W10 version, renamed as W11 now. Riding the XUV in the front seat is a joyful experience, and so is driving. The monocoque chassis makes it much more enjoyable than driving a Fortuner. At the back seat though, the chassis turns into a villain. Bumps and potholes easily intrude into the cabin. The design of the headrest at the rear is also absolute rubbish as it's angled towards the front. Mahindra should take inspiration from Harrier's headrest and bring it in the next gen XUV500. Third row is a fair experience. When it comes to looks, the XUV is unmatched. It has managed to stand the test of time all these years, though it's starting to get a little dated. Performance is like that of an underdog. You do not expect much from the 140HP engine, but it actually gives the 170HP Compass a run for it's money. Service is by far the worst experience on the XUV. Our regular dealer scrapped their tie up with M&M and this problem was not addressed by the parent company. Ideally, M&M should've assigned a new dealer to the customer, but this wasn't the case and we were directed to another dealer once we reached our original dealership. Maintenance costs though are very low, with one service costing a little over 3k. Spare parts are also available easily, though dealers lie about their availability. I would like to mention that a Toyota is a much better choice for service and maintenance. Overall I think the XUV500 is just a decent option now in 2019, since the Hector, Seltos and Harrier are here. It remains to be seen if Mahindra brings in a wonder in 2020, with the next gen XUV, like it did in 2011.
