Everything about Thar is just great except that it had ignition fuse failure 3 times when the vehicle refused to start and had to be towed to the Mahindra workshop. I am scared to take it for a long drive.

Perfect off-roading with no cons looks was dynamic using since 2 years this was my best experience and it's my fourth car I have seen comparing and it always feels me proud.

Beast Thar none of the cars is better than the Thar when you seat in the car wow just wow what a height of the seat awesome driving experience I had you can drive the car on any road thar has good mileage.

The car is overall great and gives good driving pleasure and you are just seen to be an attention seeker after sitting in the thar company services are good and taking about the looks it's great and stands out

I have driven it for 12000 kms now top diseal auto hard top version and it's really good .It's a real jeep with average comfort and go-anywhere character trust me u just never have to think twice .It cruises at around 100 kms without much wind noise but after that, u can actually feel the air hitting it and the car getting a bit unsettled. Don't even bother about bad roads within city u can just go overthem with I don't care attitude. Now the cons the software sucks I mean it behaves like from ancient ages and specs are not accurate .After 1 year lot of tweeky sounds in the cabin have started to come and it's difficult to diagnose them.Engine doest likes to be raved aggressively so u need to just take it easy .Thar has a very soft suspension so u will feel it to be super bouncy and unsettling. But mind my words it's still the best real suv u can buy under 20 lacs without a doubt as a second car and I mean it.Mahindra should put better infotainment system and work on refinement and suspension to make it a better veichle for the buck.Ya so that's it ...

As an urban use vehicle, the Thar really surprises with what it delivers. With a commanding seating presence with a long view of the road, the ability to navigate terrible Mumbai roads with all the construction happening and yet be able to park almost anywhere - due to its size of 4 meters and ability to park in rough spaces. It can easily be a primary drive for someone who usually drives alone or at most with one person. Trips to the golf course with a kit bag happen with one rear seat folded. Did a couple of airport runs with big bags on folded seats so that's also possible as needed. Though you would be better placed to have this as a second or third car in a family. AC is really good and cools fast. Gear shifts are slick most of the time, except from first to second where there is some vagueness and needs a fully depressed clutch shift smoothly. The ride tends to be a bit bumpy but that comes with the ladder on the frame and high ground clearance. Best to drive at sedate speeds of up to 80 to 100. Very torquey engine allows you to potter around at km/l on 6th gear. The bit of rough roading that one did in Karjat had me grinning - and this is not the first SUV I have owned. It really holds its weight well there and you won't think twice getting into a rough road shoulder on a country road. First service done - and it took more time than I thought it should - Mahindra is not a Toyota E60 service yet but to keep a car overnight for the usual first service niggles? Mileage of 12.63 km/l is a tank-to-tank at cut off - with a 60:40 mix of highway and city. Presume this will improve as one gets used to the driving dynamics - but I don't think one should build too many expectations beyond this. Best to look at this as a conventionally unpractical car which surprises pleasantly with what it actually delivers. I got this at the introductory price and therefore it's great value for what one paid. At the new pricing, it may take a bit to compare with a more conventional options from the venues to the entry-level mid-size SUVs.

I have driven Thar top-end model automatic. It's an amazing experience. The seating position and the road view is King size. The road presence is awesome, and the eyeball attraction is excellent, respect on road is unmatched.

The car is one for the old and the unique in its segment gives the best performance, power, Off-roading, and the feel of rough and rugged productivity of a Mahindra and the price is also less in terms off feature given for Off-roading!
